We wouldn't say it if it wasn't true. Two years ago I went through london looking for the snow that caused it to close down. I was still looking hard for it passing through Lincolnshire...

Its not the main roads thats the problem, its the side roads and just getting out of town. Its like an ice rink. We had a really big fall of snow last night, I did attempt it first thing this mornig but again decided to turn back. The fact is that its over 2 hrs to get to work so even if I waited until some of the roads had been cleared by the time I got to work then its almost time to come back x x x

The coucil never does the side roads here. You're on your own until you hit a main road. (not literally hit - though it's possible). On the bright side it does mean that main roads are often clear of traffic because no one can get to them.

Where I used to live was always swept as it was a main route out for the council depot 200 yards up the road. Not so fortunate these days.

Last winter they stopped gritting some of the main routes when they ran out of salt - but without saying anything. So one day it was gritted, the next it wasn't. That was "fun and interesting" to say the least...

And it's snowing again, though the sun is still trying to shine through.

what a !!!!!! day this turning out to be,

One of my beautiful little pigies has died, Garibaldi, I am beside myself, I have made him a nice bed and put some straw and food in it for him. and I have wrapped him in a little blue blanket.

He was fine last night, I had had them both on my knee watching tv and hand feeding leaves of spinach.

Work has just rung, some of them got in but only with a push from guys to help them out of a drift on the hill going towards work.

They are trying to find me work nearer home now for the time being.

God, I feel so sick right now. Its all going badly wrong, and I can see all those old horrid times coming back to me.
