  • Eh up Numpty,

You know me though, I like a challenge, If the roads are passable then i will attempt it.

But in the meantime, i am making use of my day at home. I am hoping to organise a clothes sale for Help for heroes between christmas and easter. If anyone wants to donate items of clothing, hats, handbags, shoes, wedding dresses or evening wear, then please pm me. If I am not allowed to post this then someone let me know and I will remove it. I have just sorted out a load of things that can go in the sale. I have put my wedding dress into it. No use to me now. LOL. Might as well be of use to someone else.

Our lovely Wol might well struggle to find her bed when she comes up here to stay. LOL. The bed is piled high already with donated items.
Never mind, at least it will keep her nice and warm LOl x x x x x

Sorry to hear you are still in the grip of the big chill. Wol that -12 was that the day time figure. if so then :eek: indeed! I bet there will be loads of younger people who don't know about lagging pipes etc. Expect a huge amount of insurance claims once this lot thaws.

Wol sorry to hear you didn't progress with the job stuff. Shucks. Ewwww to the family of rats, but at least you found them and they weren't stuck in a wall or something!

Keep safe all you lot over there.

I do like a nice warm bed..:D..especially on days like today when i have just shivered all day despite the heating being on full blast and been unable to get warm :(. I'd have spent all day in mine today except that I had "eau de souris mort" wafting into my nostrils from below the floorboards _pale__pale__pale_...and the bathroom is obviously still out of action (a hot bath usually works wonders)......so in the end I have resorted to wearing 4 layers including a thick bodywarmer and then a large thick coat on top of all that :o

Do you want me to bring up a spare clothes rail? I bought several when I had to move after the flood as the rented place had no cupboards/wardrobes :o

Yep, if you can have a pass at it, you're there...

You'll have to keep her warm. She's one of these southern type people...

Well it hasn't really snowed all day, despite earlier hailing (of all things)...

I don't know where you're headed next, but if you're coming up this way, and you can handle the full 8 inches (it's stopped being soft and shrank down to being pretty hard), then you'll be all set.

Better do some more ebaying tomorrow Hun :D

Still no snow here...although it's meant to start tonight and carry on til thursday. So in preparation for "hibernation" I have today
    a) finished lagging the rest of the outside taps,
    b) topped up the car with petrol and screenwash, parked it out on the main road and put a fleece over the windscreen.
    c) taken Maple and Beech to the vet before I get snowed in (Maple's lumps are benign and therefore nothing to worry about - although I;m pretty sure Maple would say differently after having a needle stuck into his nipple area ........and Beechie is doing really well - his wound is nearly healed with no sign of infection :j)
    d) stockpiled milk and staples....

I was meant to do client work today but I have been very out of sorts because I have just been so cold and in fact have felt suddenly really down this evening :(.
I didn;t sleep much last night as i was petrified the convector heater from Piggie Palace that I had moved into the eaves cupboard yesterday to keep the saniflo free-flowing would set alight and I kept waking up thinking i could smell burning..:o...I then had to be at chiropracters for 9am this morning (good thing shower was working ;)).....and think that I then got really cold on my subsequent trip to Aldi.

The convector heater worked fine....and is clearly much appreciated by the family of mice (at least 4 live ones I've detected so far) who I can hear scurrying around over my head in the study as i type this. They must think they are on some jolly package jaunt to the south seas or something.:rotfl::rotfl:...hopefully that will all change soon as I baited yesterday and it;s already disappeared.......although obviously as i can;t get to the bodies without ripping up the carpets and flooring,(Chev please note ) ;) so unfrotunately I will have to put up with more "Eau de souris" in various areas for a few weeks :(. (Personally I blame top totty electrician's wild hair-do ;) - when he was crawling through the depths of my loft earlier this year to fix my exterior halogen light it must have scared them down onto the first floor :rotfl:)

    Anyhow tomorrow is another day.
I have decided I need to get an early night (and bung another duvet on the bed) and get up early tomorrow to get through all this work and re-do my Cv for another job application. If i can finish off the work etc tomorrow I can then have the rest of the week to try and put the house back together after the chaos of emptying the loft....and now the only other storage space which is the eaves cupboards....and having to dump everything in the bedrooms.

Hope you all stay warm tonight. Nargle I do hope you are OK as I am a tad worried about your determination to get into work this morning in view of the news reports.
