Depends on whether the chipboard is full tongue and groove.
How about nailed (there might be the odd bit of screwing)
Otherwise it's keep the heat on, and the insects out for the Roy Castle solution: "Dessication is what you need...."
Hmmm...judging from the current aroma i guess the insects must have already found a way in? Hopefully not...but I can;t believe that mummification would be accompanied by the current "wafts"
NB The radiator adjacent to where the smell is coming from is not turned on ......and there's no way it will be for the next week or so

Nailed? That's quite unusual.Hmmm...judging from the current aroma i guess the insects must have already found a way in? Hopefully not...but I can;t believe that mummification would be accompanied by the current "wafts"
The smell will be the gut bacteria eating their way out. Dessicating would knock that on the head, but is probably too hard to achieve. Insects would be maggots... :eek:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

OK so putrfaction is occurring...and hopefully the maggots would cut the smell short......but as there aren;t any insects (I have see no flies at all these last few weeks) then I guess the smell will linger longer than hoped.
Mummifcation is clearly not going to happen

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: great convo last night!
Hope all is well with you today, Wol - and Z, and Smashed - we finally have some snow here too, tho not much more than icing sugar at the moment.
Wol, how are the piggies doing? Are some of them still in the piggy palace? I can't believe how cold everywhere is .........2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning KC
A tad more snow here this morning and although my road is clear, the village is already gridlocked :eek: (cue southern wuss mutterings from Z and Numpty :rotfl:) .....It's still falling and doesn;t look like stopping for some time yet
Thankfully the piggies are all in the lounge keeping warm with me.....I opted against Piggie Palace this winter because of the additional electricity bill last year to heat the place....It also means I can spot any signs of illness/problems earlier and they can be given their meds without me freezing my fingers off. I don;t enjoy the fact the lounge looks like a stable most days with hay everywhere...but they need it topping up every day as it is their staple diet and stops their teeth overgrowing. However it is lovely in the evening watching the TV with a piggie on your lap and listening to their wheeks....certain sounds/music on the TV seem to set them all off (like the theme from Inspector Morse :rotfl::rotfl: ). It's also good for the pigs - Maple and Willow are far bolder now and, as you saw when you visited, quite up for the odd flirt with visitors
Yep....it's bluidy cold......I dont think its been above freezing here for the last three days....and all standing water (eg water butt/watering can etc) is frozen solid and has been since the weekend.
I'm off now to knuckle under and finish off the client work today....we've a flood forum meeting tomorrow although I don;tknow how many of the agencies will turn up as they need to travel some distance.
