KC - hope the clients managed to get to you yesterday....are you having to travel into London this week?

    xxx

    Morning :hello:

Yes, they did thanks - both came down from London, each train was delayed 5 - 10 minutes, but things were still moving. I'm a bit more doubtful about today, I have one client right now heading for a London terminal to try to get here cos the staff won't say anything over the phone, but my other session is a phone one - so thats a matter of having a cuppa tea and being snuggled up! Tho the house is freezing (and its snowing inside!) because I'm giving it its daily air :rotfl: Time to close the windows and get the heat back on, I think.

I *do* have to go into London on Friday - unless the trains are completely cancelled, thats what I'll do. I often drive home with my partner and he drops me at Gatwick - don't think I'll do that this week :(

holy cow, it takes a fair bit to close an airport these days. Smashed sorry to hear about your GP. Lucky you were at home. Would have been worse to come home to it.

good luck to all trying to keep warm. don't forget all those mse tricks now, foil behind the radiators etc. And I found this winter over here, that 70 denier opaque socks made a real difference to how warm i felt! Much much more than normal tights do. And you men the SAS wear tights on maneovres, so no excuse for you either.

LOL at men in tights! Good point tho Chev :)

Just lost 1.5 hours work - Network Rail won't make any guarantees that trains are running south of East Croydon :( my hourly rate is high compared to the pitiful amount of money I actually make each week, so its a lot to lose :( OTOH, I have energy, I can work on getting the house straight and learn to cook flatbread - that would help a lot! I immediately thought of going into the town centre to buy wellies, but realise that I need to do that when I'm going out *anyway* its ridiculous to make a special trip.

  • Well, the bank have just rung me back, they sais very sorry but at this time, the computer says no. what a surprise. I did explain to them that while i cant get up the side roads in my little car I am losing 200.00 a day. And I could actually have made more because I could have got to places where other staff could not if I had a 4 wheel drive. So I asked how it made sense to have me off work and not earning at all. Yeds we do understand Mrs Booth, but because you have not had your new account for 6 months we cannot offeer you anything at this time. I asked if the fact I had my other account with them for 6yrs and run like a dream if that did add any weight. Noooo, Because, I no longer have that account as I upgraded so they can only go on new account. Bloomin jobsworths.

I did explain that in 6 months time the sun will probably be cracking the flags, LOL and I wont be so desperate. Hee hee. She was very understanding though. NOT. LOL x x x x

    Morning :)

That's great news Hun..:T...hopefully by tomorrow the roads will be clearer and gritted...and there'll be no new snow. (I hear the A1 at Catterick is a bit of a mess this morning :()

There's only been 4" overnight here - with a storm (thunder). That's the problem with snow - a couple of inches here and a couple there and suddenly you're looking at the real thing.

No such luck here......6" of snow overnight and still falling... and everywhere has ground to a halt....even the bin men haven;t visited today There;s a muti-vehicle accident on the main road just outside the village; Gatwick airport and all local schools are closed and the M25 has had the worst night in years with 400 lorries stuck:eek:

M25 can't tolerate rain, so snow is going to be a nightmare. Must have a look at the news and see how badly the transport people are doing...
