Can I get broadband without paying for a Telephone Line too?

Does anyone know of a provider/way that I can get broadband but not have my phoneline connected or get digital tv?
This may be a dumb question, but the impression I'm getting from a lot of providers is that I need a BT line. I'm shortly moving into a new pad and I currently use dial up via a BT line, but I never use the telephone to call anyone as I've got so many minutes in my mobile phone contract. c£10 per month for a phone line I don't use for calls doesn't seem very money savvy so I'd like to avoid paying for it.
Be interested in any advice - thanks in advance!

Only alternatives are NTL or Telewest who are cable. You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

...unless you're in the NOW broadband internet area (https://www.now.com) - not many people are.0

Not able to get Now
but interesting to see a company that's on that track - thanks! 0 -

You still need a compatible line. BT ,SKY when they launch line rental,or another supplier will do.0 -
Sky requires a BT based landline0

No you can use a Sky Phone line (when available) or another provider eg Post Office Home Phone.0 -
by a BT based line, I mean it is one that uses the BT network, ie. via the BT wholesale network - this is how the Post Office can provide its home phone network - since it is a BT based line0

in short no... it is not possible to have broadband access without having a telephone line of some sort be it from BT or local cable company.
unless of course you use wireless and pick up and connect to a unsecured router.......! but that would be illegal ! :cool:smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Your be wrong their Robnye ,you can get Broadband on its own from NTL. or Telewest, without taking a phone line from them.

" 2mb Special offer £8.99 a month (first 3 months) with a phone service for a year
or £14.99 a month alone (first year)"0
