I pay £77 a month for the same package but it does include Tivo. I too am considering switching as Virgin Media always falls behind with include new channels like Spike TV (still Waiting) . They keep putting up the prices. does someone have any information on how much a similar package would cost with Sky, BT or anyone else. Thanks0

Last year i had £15 per month knocked off my bill for 10 months which i was happy with (£55 down to £40)
Due to increase in fees my bill in now £60 PM (no change to the service)
I called them today gave them the usual ''i cant afford it, hours have been cut, etc'' script and was told the most they can offer is a 10% reduction, so £6 off my bill, he offered to cut down my service to save a further £4 (removing box sets and HD) but said that was all they could do, so i asked him to cancel it.
I really hope i can get a better deal offered.0 -

What he actually said ,was that offers aren't available if you just phone up on spec. You need to actually CANCEL !! Then wait until near the switch off date; you will either get an offer to reinstate or will be able to negotiate-even be prepared to let the service go off for a few days or more.:)0 -
I used Sky chat today to see about cancelling my family bundle with movies (£54 per month).
After checking which channels and functions I used/needed the best they could offer was to downgrade my TV package and remove the movies, making my bill £30 per month.
I've put my notice in from today.
Unfortunately I don't have the haggling power that others have had, due to my broadband and phone line still being in contract for another four months.June 2016 - Pair of Brooks Glycerin 14's
July 2016 - Annual family pass to English Heritage
August 2016 - overnight spa break with dinner and breakfast for two
September - BBQ toolbox0 -

As you have cancelled your TV, you will get at least 50% off deal for TV. Check your MySky and go to online chat.0 -
I have sky tv (original bundle +sports package) Broadband unlimited and phoneline .
I was paying £78 per month , on thursday i spoke to online chat and they offered me £20 off my bill which i said was not enough as i could get much better deal on Virgin .
Yesterday i rang up and cancelled sky and this morning i went onto sky live chat and told that i was about to sign upto Virgin media but wanted to have one final check to see if sky could offer me anything better to keep me.
I told the guy on live chat that i had cancelled and was currently in the 31 day cancellation period .
He said would see what could do and came back with offer of £60 per month which i said was no good ascan get same package with virgin £20 cheaper , he then came back with offer of £52 per month . Now i think it helped that i was very polite and declined again stating that it was still £12 per month more than what could get with Virgin Media.
He then told he would speak to boss and offered me £41.50 per month . i told him that it was still slightly dearer and asked what else he could do and said could offer me £20 credit to compensate. I told that is great but if he offered me £100 credit then i would stay with Sky , he agreed and offered me £100 credit!!!
so this is breakdown of discount i ended up accepting:
sky tv (orginal bundle + sports pack) 50% off
unlimited broadband £0 per month (I was paying £7.50)
£100 credit
I am very happy with that0 -
This seems to discredit the thread which appeared yesterday (but has disappeared) where a 'Sky retentions person' claimed they were no longer able to offer more than a single 10% reduction offer.0
