I was offered the 50% for 10 months offer, on cancelling tv, but, like last year (when no offer was made), nothing has appeared on My Sky (neither on the opening page nor on the 'offers for you' link ).

That's not quite accurate unfortunately. Sky will notify BT as you are transferring your line and BB from them.

However they have no need to notify Virgin so you will need to cancel those services yourself. You had best do that now as you will have a cancellation period of around 30 days.

Thanks was wondering why Virgin didn't notify me by e-mail like BT did.

    I will contact them now.

....no idea how they decide whether to offer the "deal" for 10 months or 12 months....but my offer is deffo 50% off for 12 months, and appeared on MySky homepage as soon as I finished the cancellation chat!.
The "my offers" page is actually unavailable to me.Just says phone an 0844 number -I don't think so:rotfl:

I won't accept an offer for 10 months as , unlike what they suggest, you have no bargaining power until your minimum term is up and paying full price for 2 months can massively reduce the overall effect of a 10 month offer.

I got the ring us message, last year, but the call was free, as I have their phone, too. (Do you have a friend/relative who has Sky phone, who would let you call free ?)

My s-i-l has Sky phone...but when I decide its time, I'll use the online chat -I've found that if you are ready to go at 8:30am, you get on within a couple of minutes - I'll then carry the chat thru til either I get what I want or I'll let the service go off.:)
My old Sky+ box is getting ever more iffy -had to switch the instant replay off, and avoid two recordings at once or playback can break up badly. So a new box is becoming a more eseential part of the deal.

Would be interested to know how you get on. I tried to get a new sky box yesterday (via live chat) but was told that they cant do that only multiroom. I have now given notice and also been offered the 50% off, but wondering if it is worth hanging on for a better deal? We have TV only with sky so happy for it to go off for a day or two although I guess that will mean we'll loose all our recordings which would be a pain (loads to catch up on still!)

You won't lose any recordings. They will remain on your box but you will be unable to view them until your reinstate your sub.

50% off ends next month and was offered 33% off for 5 years! Tied into contract for 1year. My bills would still have increased by £15-20 a month so said no and gave 4 weeks notice on the tv. I have the full tv package but am happy to bin the movies and sports to get the monthly price down. My bb and phone have increased too as they said my free bb deal was linked to my tv deal. Nothing in my Sky yet although I was phoned last year when I got 50% off. Last year was the first time I played the cancel card and got 50% off, will I be offered similar second time round?

...I have been, altho' not accepted anything yet :)

Interesting that you got offered 33% for 5 years - a lot of people were reporting that offer a while ago -but it seemed to vanish -I assumed because the take up was poor.

I have almost 3 weeks to go before cut off, but , have received an email increasing the offer to 12 months and adding a £50 credit.
