Sky+ package £10.00 (no channels beyond freesat)

Why pay £10 to Sky for freesat channels? Why not buy a Humax freesat box - initial cost yes but it's yours and has catchup channels built in.

If you'd cancelled TV you could have got 50% off the original bundle which is £20pm so £10pm with more channels than just freesat.

    Totally agree.

Ruley should have researched before agreeing anything with Sky. Just hope she/he has not been placed on a new 12-month contract.

I have been paying £60 a month for my Sky package - Family HD and Sports (SD). I phoned up to complain that it was costing too much a month and was offered £45 for 6 months which I refused. We couldn't agree on a suitable deal so I went ahead with cancelling the subscription and gave my months notice.

I left it for two weeks or so and checked in with MySky to see an exclusive offer - 50% off any tv package for 12 months. I checked the finer details online via a webchat and was offered an even bigger discount of 59%! which worked out at £24.60 a month for twelve months, I added HD to my Sports package and am still paying less than half what I was last month. Saved £424.80 for the year! (before I signed up for the HD Sprt)

It's worth sticking to your guns if you can't get a deal, I was due to leave in a fortnight or so, I was going to phone up in a week to 'double check' what my cancellation date was and see what they could come up with. Guess they blinked first.
  • Im currently on my usual 50% yearly discount but been sent an email for multi room at standard price but then a free 32" Samsung TV.

Has anyone been offered this or something similar? It seems I get to keep my offer when you order it online but that finishes in December. I suppose I lose my bargaining power after that as I still will have 8-9 months to run on the multi-room contract...

Sky don't usually let you have multiple tv offers (they blame it on the system not being set up for such), so taking the Samsung may result in their removing your 50% discount. This has happened to others on here.

Spoke to sky today, I said I'm not that fussed about the TV which they couldn't find the deal and believed it was an 'online only' deal.

Offered half price multi room for 12 months but new multi room contract. Explained that when my sky tv contract expires in december I lose all my bargaining power as I'm tied into a contract anyway.

Im now hoping they will offer me a 12 months 50% off sky and multi room. Will take that.

It was a wireless sky + HD box as well not the bog standard sky HD box without recording.

Had the inevitable phone call yesterday offering me 3 packages. 1. 33% off for 5 years with 12 month contract 2. 50% off for 12 months and £100 credit to the bill and no contract 3. 60% off for 12 months again no contract.

Suffice to say I went for the middle option, I knew sooner or later they would be in touch, so in effect I now have Sky TV free for 6 months, can't grumble about that one.

....interesting that the 33% off for 5 years has reappeared - hadn't been any posts about it for a while so I thought that Sky had dropped it.
I'm one week away from my "cancellation" date -hope I get the 50% plus £100 offer too:j

I got a basic offer of 50% off, yesterday, at the actual time of cancellation notice. However, it was one of the 10 month deals, which I will not agree to, so room for haggling, still.

Depending on the price of your current package, you might want to try for the 60% off and £50 credit. That's a current offer as well. Obviously which is better depends on how much you pay at the moment, but it's something to consider.
