What sort of a deal should I be going for?
No cable in our area only sky

    Have sky +
all channel blocks except one, no movies or sports
Sky talk (no extras except the anon caller reject)
    Sky bb unlimited

Currently pay about £60 a month Inc any calls

Ideally want to reduce this cost.

I think perhaps a new customer would get this cheaper so thinking of going to sky along that line, but would really like to know what people on here think I should be aiming for.
    Thanks for any replies!

I was similar. (check my previous posts on getting everything 50% off) They don't know you have no cable in the area...... so you can say you're offski to Virgin and ask them to do you a deal.

the lady I spoke to did say you can just ring them up and ask them for a deal. And don't forget to ask for the free ESPN trial for 3 months.

I was on the old BB Unlimited. I now pay £7.50 a month for it.

Bit the bullet & rang the 0844 number, it was .06p / minute for me.

why do you people keep using numbers that cost you to phone sky? if you have got sky talk then just dial 150 it takes you straight to cust. ser.
  • hi

We're moving into a new house which is out in the countryside, the current people have freesat and a dish so we know sky works there etc.

Because we're out in the countryside we cant have their broadband lite or unlimited, we have to have the broadband connect.

If we could have broadband unlimited the whole package (tv, phone line, calls, braodband) would cost us £39 or £31.50 with broadband lite.

They say we have to have broadband connect and this will cost us £49 a month, not really sure thats a fair deal as its costing more money for a crappier service!!

Has anyone been succesful in getting them down in price as a new customer? How do i go about it as obviously the retentions dept wont be able to help.
Being MSE i also want to go through cashback sites and get a free £60 too!!

    All help appreciated

    thanks

What does everone say when they call sky up? I feel like I have failed miserably in trying to get a deal :(
call them sat night on 0800 0466434, as the retentions dept deals run from a tuesday to monday so they dont want to use up all their deals on day 1.
mention that is purely financial, happy with sky as a whole but as you see sky as a luxury then this is one of the monhly costs that you are looking to reduce/cancel. mention that you only really watch sports and movies (if in your package) and not worth just downscaling package as the other stuff you watch is terestial, ie bbc1, bbc2 and itv
i do this every 6 months and 1 day and have never been refused a deal, i have been on half price sky world hd for 4 years now, paying about £30 odd a month
hope this helps, any questions please let me know

i have recently been on 12 month half price deal that ends next month.
i called them up saying that i had been on a deal and would like to cancel and would be open to an offer of half price again.the woman i spoke to did`nt have any offers at all and so i said i would carry on cancellation and was`nt offered anything at all.
i did call on a monday or tuesday last week whether that had anything to do with it.

I phoned tonight - first time just asked if they had any offers and they said no. So phoned back and said I was going to cancel my TV subscription ( I was actually going to!) and was offered 6 months half price TV which is around 40 quid for me. To be honest I think I will try to cancel at the end of the half price period again, the full TV package is just too much money!
