If you have HD Multi-room, they are reducing that so you only pay £10 for your household, rather than per HD Box... So don't let them fob you off saying that is a reduction in your package.
What i got when ringing up regarding reducing packages, is that if i keep them, i can get a discount of 20%, and i could at the time add sports & ESPN (if i wanted) which would also inlclude the 20% discount.
So if you ring up, saying you want to reduce your package to just 3 packs (Variety, Sytyle & Culture, & Knowlege) your package price will be £20 (minus 20% discount?), plus £10 (HD), plus £10 (Multi-room), total of £36.00.
Then, if you add sports and movies at a 20% discount, you could be paying £38 (All Channels, Inc. Movies & Sports Exc. ESPN [Free for 3 Months]), Plus £10 (HD), plus £10 (Multi-room), totalling £58.00.
You can also upgrade your white Sky+ or Sky+HD Box to a 1TB HD Box for £49.
This is all what i was told during my 40-odd minute conversation between the 3 departments. (all of which were kind and helpful).
Hope this helps!0 -
Been a Sky customer for around 15 years, never asked for a discount, but I'm going to give this a go tomorrow.
I've only got the entertainment package as I can't afford my beloved sports, but I'm going to threaten to move to Virgin. Looking at their packages with the 6 month discount, they offer the full package for around £33 for 6 months.
Fingers crossed.....

Right, to update, rang up said I was going to leave etc, nice lady gave me:
6 months half price everything and ESPN free for 3 months
reduced my broadband cost by a £5
and has given me a free Sky HD+ box with free fitting.
Smashing!

I just want a V+ box, what do you think the chances are of them demanding an activation fee? Seems a bit harsh if they do as I'm already with them...Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

Hmm, when I spoke to them recently I only got 6 months half price. I pushed about upgrading to a hd box but was told that they can't 'stack' offers, meaning I could have 6 months half price OR a free hd box.
What did you say to get both? Have you committed to another contract with them?0 -
So annoyed, try calling up and threatened to switch to virgins sky switcher deal, as its alot less than the £90 odd a month we currently pay for sky and explained we couldnt afford it any longer etc etc. We have the full package and have done for 6 years (well adding new stuff as they appear e.g HD). Got told we couldnt as we had entered another contract in july when we accepted a "new HD+ box" We were sent a letter saying as we were a valued customer and one of the first to get HD they were going to update our box free of charge. I was not happy!! I kept my cool and said I was not happy as we were never told that we were tie-ing (sp?) ourself in for another 12 months for accepting a goodwill gesture! He then had to "go and check with his supervisor as he saw my point" and suprise suprise I was right. :j
He then said, so whats this virgin deal, and I explained, he agreed it was a good deal and that we did spend alot,he then says let me have a look at what we can offer you to try and change my mind.......................nothing!! He says as we had accepted a deal in July of free installation when we got our old sky HD box swapped over for our new one and it should have been £79!! we werent entitled to any more deals. Then I got mad. How could they possibly say the had gave us a deal and we had accepted when they were the one offering a free box and installation as a gesture of goodwill. Needless to say as soon as my partner is home, sky is getting cancelled as its in his name and cant be put in my name. They have really p***ed me off especially since we spend roughly £1100+ a year on them!!!!:mad:0/2013

And also to Madgagoo
I told them Virgin had a great offer on etc and I'd never been offered anything (I hadn't and been with them for around 15 years)
The lady laughed explained how awful Virgin were but admitted they did give good offers. So I told her to come up with something for me to make me feel valued.
She originally came back with 25% off my bill for 6 months, but I just laughed and told her to try harder. She instantly came back with 50% and a new free HD box with fitting (I've only got a Sky box, no + facility)
She also sorted out changing me to their cheaper BB options saving me an extra £5 a month too.
I have had to sign up for another 12 months, but I'm covered if anything goes wrong with the box I guess. she did tell me to ring back in 5 months and simply ask them what they can do for me pricewise. She said people should just ring and ask.
Maybe i got a nice lady! lol

What sort of a deal should I be going for?
No cable in our area only sky
Have sky +
all channel blocks except one, no movies or sports
Sky talk (no extras except the anon caller reject)
Sky bb unlimited
Currently pay about £60 a month Inc any calls
Ideally want to reduce this cost.
I think perhaps a new customer would get this cheaper so thinking of going to sky along that line, but would really like to know what people on here think I should be aiming for.
Thanks for any replies!0
