Hi
Sky was turned off for me on the 21st. I phoned them up today to see what they could offer.
After much too'ing and fro'ing we settled on the following which really seemed to be the best I can get:
sky family pack with sports and HD pack (not HD with sports) and multi room for 1 additional room - 60% off for 10 months on a 12 month contract + a £50 account credit and free box and installation for the multiroom.
I tried and tried to get 12 months 60% but this was a real sticking point and there was just no movement on that at all.
What does everyone think of that as a deal?0 -
cancelled sky last summer as they could not match the 50% off i was on, after several letters offering 'the best deal ever' at 33% off for 5 years which i wasnt interested in, i have just received 2 letters on the same day, one offering 50% off and the other 67%, both 12 month contracts, was holding out for 75% but may take up the 67% off, got till 10th april to decide......0

Everyone doesn't get an offer. I and others just got a message saying no offers could be made online, but call them.0 -
Am I going about this the wrong way? My tactic with renegotiating with Sky is to find a price for BT, and then call Sky and say "this is what BT are offering, what can you do?"
The problem is that Sky seem to get more and more clever each year. They have all the answers now. "With BT you can't have multiroom, with BT you can't have Sky Sports 5, with BT you can't have Sky Go, etc, etc, etc..."
It is making negotiation difficult because they always come up with something like "well I can make your bill cheaper by taking away multiroom if you don't want it anymore". The problem is I DO want multiroom, I just don't want them to know that because then they would know that I would never realistically consider moving to BT.
Should I drop the BT thing and just go for a more direct "we can't afford any of it anymore" approach?0 -

Yes. You could embellish it with some sob story like you've lost your job........if you can be bothered.0 -

I managed to get 50% off by giving my 31 days notice. I was due to be disconnected on Thursday and on checking My Sky online saw a 35% off offer.
I used the live chat and asked for 50% off. This was offered and I accepted.
I sent a copy of the chat to my email address and saved it just in case there are any problems.
So my advice ask if any offers as you can't afford the sub. If nothing offered that you like give your notice and wait until you get offers.0 -

I used to be with Sky, inc BB, until May last year when my 50% contract expired. I decided not to renew as I felt it was expensive for what I was getting.
My BB is now through EE - not great but fine for surfing - and I use my old Sky box to access terrestrial channels.
I won't be going back to Sky unless they offer me at least 60% off. I honestly don't miss Sky that much.0 -

If I lived on my own I would not have Sky for TV. With a family it is a different matter!0
