Went onto live chat today following handing in my notice to cancel a few days ago. Offered me 50% for the next 12 months which I was happy to accept!

Nice saving of £396 over the next year!

I used to be with Sky, inc BB, until May last year when my 50% contract expired. I decided not to renew as I felt it was expensive for what I was getting.

My BB is now through EE - not great but fine for surfing - and I use my old Sky box to access terrestrial channels.

I won't be going back to Sky unless they offer me at least 60% off. I honestly don't miss Sky that much.

Left Sky over 3.5 yrs ago after they wouldn't give us a new HD Box alongside a 50% discount.

Just got letter offering 65% off, called them up and it actually worked out at 67% off TV and another discount on broadband

Offered us £11 a month for the TV Family Pack or £21 for the full TV package and finally the new free HD Box.

Tempted but we declined ! (Well the OH did, I was tempted and still am !)

How much was the discount on the BB?

Sky currently want over £16 a month for line rental, let alone the BB. My EE BB deal is costing me around £7 a month - after cashback. If I switch to Sky, they will have to come close to matching that. Sky TV alone wouldn't make me switch my BB to them.

BB was half price, line rental £16

We've already got Sky BB at half price anyway

Currently I'm out of contract with virgin paying around £78pm for bb, phone I don't use andand multiroom XL TV with no sports or movies. I need virgin bb as can't get anywhere near the speed in my area with any other provider but happy to change TV. Does anyone know if its possible to have sky TV with virgin bb and no phone line? Any advice welcomed but need virgin BB. I've tried negotiating with VM but they gave me free sports and movies for 3 months which ended today hence looking round!

I have sky tv with virgin BB and phone fine. When I called up virgin to stop having the phone they gave it free anyway. It was more expensive to take it off than take it free somehow

Yes you can have bb without phone line though they generally bump up the price of the bb to compensate! If you are out of contract worth a call to cancel services and see what deal they can come up with.

Thanks I couldn't find a definitive answer, called VM earlier and the offshore call centre advised to call back tomorrow and speak to the UK guys!

Fully appreciate everyone's circumstances are different, but if any of you can give me a ballpark idea of whether this is a decent offer or not I'd appreciate it:

Basically want a 4 multi-room set up, currently have an old HD box and an really really old non-HD white box (i.e. 2 multi-room)

What they are offering (after a bit of haggling with retentions):

    Room 1: New Sky2TB box - £49
    Room 2: Sky Multiroom box - £49
Room 3: Sky Multiroom box - Free
Room 4: Reuse old HD box - Free(!)
& bin the old white box (obviously!)

Monthly cost for TV, including all movies/sports (on a 12 month contract):

    £72.38 1st 8 months
    £93.73 Months 9/10
    £116.25 Months 11/12

Still sounds a bit expensive to me, especially when I'm then paying extra for BT Sport. But maybe I'm being over-optimistic.

Any opinions? I'm staying with Virgin for phone/BB so no leverage there, it's TV only...
  • When I had sky multiroom I never paid more than £2.50pm per room so any more than that and I wouldn't budge especially as your paying for extras like BT Sport anyway.

On a side note have you tried now tv instead of multiroom, you can pick up the entertainment passes on ebay for as a little as £10 at times and on one now tv subscription you can use it on 3 tvs.
