Letter from sky today trying to get us back. 33% off for the next 5 years !! Interesting change of tactic there.
Still not bothering though, enjoying paying £0.00 for my TV and not really missing anything.0 -

Hmmm.............depends on exactly what they are offering 33% off.
That is, do they mean the price will be fixed at, say £50 a month for the next 60 months and on that you get a third off? If so, all well and good.
OR are they saying the discount will be applied to whatever the prevailing price is at the time? If this is what they are offering, the prices may well have gone up 33% by the start of year 5 anyway......0 -
I cancelled sky tv yesterday because I was only offered £10 off my monthly cost. There is no offer on My Sky0

Exact wording is
"33% off Sky TV for 5 years. Come back on a 12 month contract and save 33% year after year until 2020 on any Sky TV Bundle"0 -
Just got 10 months half price (we were just coming off a 1 year half price deal, so said I would stay with them if they could do the same). It is a 'no contract' offer as well so we are not locked in to paying 2 months full price!
We put in notice to cancel last week were phoned and offered 35% off first before negotiating the 50%.
Did try for broadband too, but only got an offer of waiving the £7.50, so I'll either stay with my current provider or get a cashback deal.0 -

I too was offered this when I called to cancel, my tv package finished tomorrow, I also declined I it does not bother me having to call up every year to get a discount its part of the big game0 -

I am just off the phone and basically got the same deal. they started off with 10% off just the tv, then through to cancellations who offered 33% over 5 years guaranteed on whatever package I had, then 50% off for 10 mths. my bb deal isnt up for another couple of months so i have to phone to get that freebie to be extended.
To answer the question a few posts above, its NOT a fixed price, just the discount is guaranteed.
the longer term deal might be worth considering if they stop the short term ones, i wonder if its the pressure from bt, netflix etc starting to show and they want to "lock in" customers?2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0 -

Sounds like they are offering the second option I listed. So, every year you have to renew and get a 33% discount on whatever the prices are at that time.
Not a great deal at all - who wants to be tied in to Sky for 5 years and be at their mercy for of all that time? Far better to renegotiate at the start of each of the 5 years, if you really want Sky.
Only mugs will take up this offer.0 -

I was told the discount rolls over after the minimum term, so even if you don't renew you will stil get the 33% discount.who wants to be tied in to Sky for 5 years and be at their mercy for of all that time?
When I was offered this a few months back it was only a 12 month contract, then a rolling 30 day one. So able to cancel after the 12 months as usual. I imagine it's still the same now.Far better to renegotiate at the start of each of the 5 years, if you really want Sky.
Yep, I agree. It's the reason I declinedOnly mugs will take up this offer.
I actually think this would be a good deal for people who are hopeless at remembering when their minimum term is up, or just never get round to phoning up for a discount year after year. 33% off is better than reverting to full price! How often on here do you see people write 'My discount finished x months ago and I never realised! I've been paying full price'.0 -
Mine's been off for a few days now , during the notice period I was offered the 35% off for 12 months in My Sky, the day it went off it changed to 50% off for 12 months.
I'm not biting yet but as many now seem to be getting offered 50% for 10 months maybe that's as good as it's going to get ?0
