I currently pay around £60pm for my package. I wanted to try and get it dropped significantly like some of you have managed.
I was offered a £10 pm discount (for 10 months only) on my talk/line rental deal. I refused and started cancellation talk in the hope a better deal may appear and unfortunately that was that. Guess I keep logging in to my account and see if anything better appears.
Just received an offer through the post offering me the 35% off for 12 months on the TV deal which saves me just over £10 per month
Its the first offer I've received from SKY since the quoted deal. If I could combine the two of them then we are starting to talk business.
Trying to get through via the online chat to negotiate further but so far no luck.
Do you usually get a better deal via the post or over the phone next time?0 -
Can you please share with us:
What number did you used to get those nice offers ?
Is there a better time of the day when to call ?
Are they (Win me back dept.) working weekends ?
I only got through to someone (a woman, on an afternoon) asking if she can try to get me a good deal, when I called 03442 411 653 to correct something on my account. I assume there was some alert on my account as the CSR was very eager to transfer me to "cancellations". She offered straight away 5/month Fibre Unlim./12 months, but on a 18 month contract (full price Tel Line). Asked for 12 month contract, she said not possible. Did not ask about TV.
When I called 03332 022 135 (a relatively valid reason), on both occasion (men, young voices) they didn't even bother to ask why I'm leaving (have TV, Multi, BB and TL). Quite condescending I would say.
Also, nothing on My Sky.
PS: For those that don't want to bother with haggling, Quidco has some good offers for existing cust./upgrades. For Fibre Unlimited they have 6 months free and 125 quid cashback.0 -
Well my cancellation saga continues...
I called them on Tuesday night to see about keeping my broadband/phone but continuing with my TV cancellation. I was offered £10 line rental and half price broadband (£3.75) for 10 months on a 12 month contract. I agreed to this as it's cheaper than I could get elsewhere and it's about the same as I'm currently paying. I was told as broadband/phone wasn't as simple to reconnect that it could take 24 hours to take effect and she would call me back the following night to confirm. Wednesday night came and went with no phone call.
Thursday night I called them again to ask what's happening and got through to a guy who said he could see the notes on my account but he couldn't seem to get that deal, best he could do for me was £10 line rental for 10 months and £2.50 broadband for 12 months. Thought it was a trick question as £12.50 a month is cheaper than the £13.75 I was quoted on the Tuesday night.
So I've now had my offers all confirmed and I'm now holding out for a deal on TV0 -
Have cancelled tv on Monday but kept on bb and phone. Should I cancel phone & bb to get s better deal? There are currently no offers on my sky.0

Be wary with that one - can you really afford to mess about reconnecting phone lines and internet connections just to get the best package deals when you've fully cancelled?Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

I never did get any tv offers before or after cancelling. just a message saying no online offers were available, so please call them.
I had all the figures for elsewhere offers, then rang a few days before my phone minimum term was up, thinking I would at worst only risk paying two weeks at full price, should I need to transfer. However, i got what I wanted, ie free line rental, then asked about tv and was offered half price.0 -
Started cancel ball rolling on Tuesday (5 days) ago and had 35% offer in My Sky since that day. Never had any intention of leaving, just trying to save some cash on my TV package.
Went onto online chat this afternoon, barely had to haggle, was instantly offered 50%, so from £62.75 (variety, sports and HD) down to £36.50 for 12 months on 12 month contract, then back to full price afterwards.
Said I wasn't happy with 12 months. (although I was) I then asked about adding movies as we'd considered Netflix or Amazon Prime.
He offered to add movies for £8.25/month, then instantly reduced to £4.25...... so £40.75 for the 12 months.
I said if he could reduce monthly cost further I would consider a 12 month contract.
Then said he'd upgrade me to Family (from variety) pack with Sports, HD and adding Movies all for £38.25/month for 12 months, then back to £71.25 at end of 12 months.
I pushed for further discounts, but he wasn't having any of it. I would probably have had to go off the chat and let the days run out on my 31 days for 60% or cashback etc.
But wife would kill me if I'd let things cancel. So I took the upgrade offer.
In the end, i've gone from £62.75/month to £38.25/month and upgraded to Family and got Movies for the next 12 months. :j
Some of you might have held out for more, but i'm happy enough as i've also had a decent money saving week with both BT and EDF.
Note, I was online with the chat person for almost an hour, so be sure you've got time to chat as I think they have multiple windows open and there are delays in chat.

OK - I've run into an issue.
My cancellation date is 02 Feb and I called up today see what they can offer, but they are unable to do anything as they cannot cancel the original cancellation of services.
Word of warning -anyone wanting to go through with the threat and see what they offer - don't cancel the broadband!!
Or if anyone else knows how I can not lose any bb services, it would be much appreciated! Even if it means going with someone else (I have fibre and really don't want to lose it)
