I have just cancelled tv. The so called offer they quoted was more than I was currently paying!! They did offer me free bb meaning £16.40 for phone (which I don't use) and bb for 12 months. I rejected that saying I will be shopping around for cheaper. What's the plan now then folks?? Sit tight for a call?? Tv is due to be cut off 15/2/15.
Does anyone think it would be more beneficial for me to cancel phone & broadband also??0 -
I lost the will to live haggling with them. Settled for 50% off any package and a £50 bill credit with no contract (for 12 months). I could have held out for more but it averaged around the price of Now TV which is what I used to argue the price down...0

Hello.
I am after some help/advice about sky products.
I started a thread in the phone/broadband part about changing from BT broadband and phone to a new provider.
In October I cancelled sky and on the day after turning off tv I was called and I haggled for 55% discount on my package bringing it to £30 a month. In the conversation the rep tried to get me to change phone/broadband over but I still had 4/5 months to go.
I am now looking to change from BT and Sky have phone and broadband plus anytime calls for £21.40 a month.
What I want to know is if I order it from sky will my tv package discount stop and be charged the full price or will keep the same price.
I was thinking of going through a cashback site but as I am an existing customer I dint know if they call you up and then that stops the cashback as it was not done wholly online.
Thank you.
I have looked on Quidco and TCB about cashback but they have deals for new and existing customers. I have tv with them but want to change from Bt to a new provider. It doesn't seem too clear about what link to click for the deals. Some say upgrade deals and others new deals. I had sky broadband but left 18 months ago.
Has anybody any idea on which deal I should go for as I don't want to place an order and then not get paid as I clicked the wrong link.
Thank you.0 -

Well I called Sky , and despite telling them Virgin can offer me extra - BT SPort HD, Fibre, mutliroom ... all the guy offered me was half price line rental (whcih i can get via Post Office anyway).
He was well trained to make every conversation as loooooong as possible, to wear me down and just ring off.
Im determined to haggle a deal out of the fibre, but he wouldnt budge.
Anyways , Im trying to chat online as at work, but cant get the online chat option to appear . th eonly page it menstions it says "checking agent availability" , but never changes ...any help guys ?0 -
Did you give your notice?
If not, call them back and give your notice.
If you want a deal then you have to give your notice.0 -
I sort of know that , but didnt want to give notice of broadband as dont want to lose any connectivity of it.
Guess its my only way forward for this.
Anybody had any good deals on the Fibre if threatened to leave ?0 -
Just spoken to live chat to keep my broadband and phone as I should be cut on the 17th. She told me they have kept it on for me anyway as they didn't want me to loose my line. And to just get the other company to take over the line so I didn't need to cancel in the first place.I would like to be a glow-worm.

Left Sky BB and Variety pack in May.
Kept box and am using it to view basic TV. Have switched BB to EE.
Over Xmas they e-mailed offering 60% and £100 credit. I haven't missed it and so won't go back for any less than 75%. The other day I got a call offering 50% off and £50 credit which I turned down.
Come May time, if they call back, I may consider them as I'll be looking to switch BB then anyway.0 -
We are due to be switched off Monday 19th... Only showing 35% off which has shown from day one... We have not had any phone calls or mail offering any more discounts...Ah well, off she will go...bye bye Sky..0
