Basically until you cancel then they dont have much to lose by just offering a small discount. Once you have started the cancellation process they will presumably offer something better to try and keep your custom.

well these 75% deals have gone I think. Have been without for 1 month 5 days thought Id give them a ring as last 2 years theyve rung me exactly 1 month after canc and offered 75%. I got 50% 10 months and a new box which isnt bad, but holding out for more.

I'd be happy with a new box and 50%. Guess I'm going to have to wait till switch off and see what happens.

I'm one of the o2 converts who took up the free broadband & tv deal in Nov 2013. Cancelled the package when the 12 months was up and went else where for broadband so wasn't expecting to hear anything considering I was on a heavily discounted deal for just 12 months, however Dec 2014 after the service had ended I received a call from some 'outbound team'...

Got straight to the point and said I won't pay more than £25 for tv package and 'extras'. Offered multiroom (10 months) and family package w/ movies (12 months) for £24 p/m rolling contract. I probably could have haggled some more but happy with that considering I had dropped their broadband and phone service completely.
I have enough money to last me the rest of my life... unless I buy something.

    Looking for some advice.
I cancelled on 03 Jan and a couple of days later got a phone call offering a meagre £10/m off (typically £80/m bill). Politely declined and told them that they have to come in at the £50/m level for me to make it work for me.

Since then I've not had any calls, and although there is still time, I really need to sort out by bb service as it is heavily used in the house.

Is it worth calling them? I may well have got a call from the retentions / outbound team and not taken the call. Do they call on your mobile? Or just home phone? What number should I call them on / what is the number that they call from to try and win you back?

Either way, if I can get it all in for £50, I'm happy.
If I don't have bb at the start of Feb the rest of the family will not be happy!!

I'm going to phone sky me cancel today. I am paying around £73 per month for all tv channels, phone & bb. Am I better to cancel everything or will I still get the same offers if I just cancel tv?? I'm a bit worried if my bb gets cut off after 2 weeks as someone above has suggested??

To the last two posters -easiest to cancel is TV -because it can be restarted almost instantaneously.IF you cancel b/band /phoneline then be prepared to be without service for some time as it is very difficult to organise simultaneous supply from another ISP. Better to use TV cancellation as negotiating tool.

    Hello.
I am after some help/advice about sky products.
I started a thread in the phone/broadband part about changing from BT broadband and phone to a new provider.
In October I cancelled sky and on the day after turning off tv I was called and I haggled for 55% discount on my package bringing it to £30 a month. In the conversation the rep tried to get me to change phone/broadband over but I still had 4/5 months to go.
I am now looking to change from BT and Sky have phone and broadband plus anytime calls for £21.40 a month.
What I want to know is if I order it from sky will my tv package discount stop and be charged the full price or will keep the same price.
I was thinking of going through a cashback site but as I am an existing customer I dint know if they call you up and then that stops the cashback as it was not done wholly online.

    Thank you.
  • I have just cancelled tv. The so called offer they quoted was more than I was currently paying!! They did offer me free bb meaning £16.40 for phone (which I don't use) and bb for 12 months. I rejected that saying I will be shopping around for cheaper. What's the plan now then folks?? Sit tight for a call?? Tv is due to be cut off 15/2/15.

I did similar last year, I already had discounted TV with Sky and then switched my broadband back to Sky from BT via TopCashback.
All was fine, kept the TV discount and got > £100 cashback for switching broadband.
Effectively you end up with separate contracts for each e.g. my TV 12 months is up in Feb and my Phone/BB is up in Aug.

My advice would be go for it!
