  • Had full package for 15 years or so. Now got Smart TV. No BB, not cable area. Rang and asked for - upgrade to HD and free HD box, keep sports and movies, reduce price from 61 pm to 31.

After long pauses and delays was offered 35% discount on that revised package for 8 months.

Nt good enough so have cancelled. Will advise if get any better offers, but simply too much to pay when freesat and Netflix etc does most of the job.

    snip...

    only offered 50% off multiroom (£ 5.62 discount) & 10% off tv pack for 6 months (£6.92 discount)...snip

managed to get though on live chat again, which is a minor miracle in itself!, & offer increased -

£12.50cr off for 10 months + £50cr on account, 12 month new contract = £175 total discount (compared to £75.24cr total offered earlier in the week).

refused this again & have confirmed 31 days notice on TV to be cancelled.

lots of trying to persuade otherwise & 'are you really sure?', but i persisted.

now, knowing my luck, there will be no offers of any kind whatsoever to stay & i'll just end up cancelling the turn off anyway...:o

I'm 1 week into my cancellation notice with Sky. I have the Family package but want the Complete bundle. I was told that I cannot upgrade/downgrade my package in any way while I am in my cancellation period. Is this true?

He did offer the 50% discount I wanted for Family package and assured me I could upgrade later without losing my discount.

Guess I'll just wait for it to be switched off now. If I don't get it back at all it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world!:p
  • Come back to 33% off Sky TV until 2020

just been offered this by email

there's still time to get the best Sky TV deal you can get. Just come back to Sky by 22 January on a 12 month contract, and we'll not only give you 33% off any Sky TV Bundle you pick, we'll also give you that offer every year until 2020.

Opening offer was the half price line rental (had a flyer today), 20% off SKY HD with Variety and Sky Sports - with my broadband going up in effect!

For people who have had the 50% deal what did you end up paying on BB and Line Rental?

My sky account is still not working online for offers/upgrade/add tv
    "Unable to proceed
Unfortunately we are unable to show your exclusive offers available online. To continue or for more information, please call 03442 411 818."

Thought that might be why I got no contact throughout my 30 days notice or in the last few weeks since I was disconnected (Sky TV went off around 16th Dec) but today I had the 33% for 5 years email too

Still don't know whats up with my account online tho!

i will try, honest! although i have just seen an ad for england v australia cricket 3 days after our cut off day, husband will throttle me if not sorted by then!

how long does it take for mysky to update to reflect end of tv? only after it's past the disconnection date? just wondering as ours hasn't changed (which makes sense as still receiving the service), but will offers only show online afterwards? thought i'd read of offers online within days of giving notice...

It varies from person to person. I never received any offers showing on My Sky but did have a missed call from retentions so I phoned them up about 2 weeks after cancellation notice and eventually negotiated a 50% off deal.

My son received a 35% off email and when he phoned to negotiate they said they could see no sign of that offer but could give him 50%.

At no time did either of us see offers in My Sky although we did have marketing to allow it.

Just an update on my situation.
I've been disconnected since Wednesday. On that same day the offer on MySky changed to 50% off for 12 months or a free Samsung Galaxy 7" Tablet.

On Thursday the offer changed to just 50% off for 12 months.

Today I contacted LiveChat and have negotiated a deal for 60% off for 10 months + £50 account credit.
At the last minute she added in that it would be a 12 month contract (i.e. the final 2 months of contract would be full price).
I questioned this and she eventually offered a rolling contract.

    Pretty happy with this outcome.
Will rinse and repeat in 10 months time!
