I have just the TV but the full package with HD and pay £71.25 a month.
I phoned to cancel on Monday and got offered £10 off per month, which I declined. I got two calls yesterday the first of which I missed and another later which I answered - initially offered 35% off (as was listed on my MY SKY login), then 50% off for 12 months with no contract and then an additional £50 credit on top of the 50% deal.
I declined, much to the annoyance of the very bolshy and pushy Scottish chap. I might mention this to the next person I speak to actually as he was really quite unpleasant on the phone.
Am I realistically likely to get better than that by hanging on or should I just ring back and accept that deal (assuming they still let me have it)??

Sky Phone - Free Line Rental
Sky BB - £7.50 per month (will increase to £10 if Tv is cancelled)
Basically, we had Sky Line Rental and BB, we were happy with Freeview HD as we would use Netflix etc. After multiple cold calls from Sky, we took the Tv on aswell, therefore we have Tv & BB/Phone at different contract periods.
The tip with the TV was to keep batting them off, and eventually they offered 75% off.
Phone/BB - We were getting a slow 4MB in speed due to living in the middle of no-where. We have the option to have a Virgin BB which is up to 50MB, for £19 per month. Slighly £4 increase. Sky was not offering any deals on phone lines, basically "just take it or leave", therefore we signed up for Virgin and attempted to transfer the phone line. I guess once they received the transfer request, it created this automatic email..

Still want sky pay them £91 a month with broadband and line rental included. They did call back today and offered 50% off told them I will think about it. We need a new box the old one is on it's last legs. They could not let me have a new box. I have an offer on my account for £49 asked if I could take that. If I do I will lose the 50% discount. She wanted to send someone to look at it at a cost of £69. But could have multi room at 25% off and would get a new box that way I turned that down. Moving my phone and broadband to somewhere else not happy with sky keeps cutting out all he time.
The £49 box locks you in to a new 12 month contract. As the 50% offers are often contract free they don't do them together.
If you want the 50% and the £49 box you have to be prepared to be locked into a 12 month minimum term and go for them separately, which may result in you being charged full price for a period of a couple of weeks at the end of your deal (depending on how quickly you do them).
Basically take the 50% and make sure it isn't contracted. Wait a while and then phone up to see if you can get the box. A good way of doing this is to "enquire" about whether a box purchased from eBay or Amazon would work (they would by the way, so there's always that option if you don't mind second hand and aren't desperate for a 2TB). This may prompt the Sky adviser to offer you the £49 box but on the proviso of a new 12 month contract (because the box is substantially discounted... look at the discounts that are applied to your bill after you get one!).0 -
I've still had no contact from Sky and no change to MySky
Been over a week since I cancelled but I'm not being cut off until the 31st so do you think it's too early for them to be interested?

Not at all.
Log into Mysky, go to my settings and make sure that marketing preferences for household marketing and Sky iD marketing are all ticked.
Then go back to my sky and you should see a message offering you a 35% discount for 12 months if you stay with a phone number to call or a button to press to start live chat.
I tried live chat yesterday and was offered 50% off for 12 months and then 60% off for 10 month, both with no minimum term. I declined both because I am holding out for another 75% off offer or an offer of 60% + a £100 bill credit that I know they were offering to people last month.0 -

Nothing whatsoever. I have checked my settings quite a few times and they have been set the same since the beginning...We'll get in touch with you about Sky marketing by post, telephone and email Edit household marketing preferences0 -

Thanks for your advice will make sure the 50% is not on a 12 month contract. Will try one more time for a box when they ring again.I would like to be a glow-worm.

£14 in total, I'd be willing to pay twice this much, don't tell Sky though!0

Oops just realised my Sky marketing was set to go to my Sky ID email account which has never been setup - do you think that's why I haven't received any contact from them? I cancelled on the 30th December and have no phone calls, emails, nothing!0
