Sky, Virgin & BT TV Haggle down prices and get serious discounts Article Discussion

I was gonna add Sky Movies to my package since it'd cost around £20 total for 9 months or so with Sky's current offer and my discount, plus you can get £40 cashback. However, the Sky website calculates the discount incorrectly and makes Sky Movies come to an extra ~£32pm if I add it. :eek:0

Everyone's a winner is the motto.
Yes my job means I negotiate for a living but you can all do it.
Yes & No. In negotiations last time I said the maximum I was prepared to pay was £30 for everything (Sports and Movies) they said no. This was last week of notice period.
Move forward 2 weeks and "win back" rang and offered the current 75% off deal that is just finishing. Of course we would like that, net cost £23 a month with everything.
So they could have had an extra £7 a month off me 2 weeks prior, so it doesn't always work with cards on the table. Certainly not in their favour :rotfl:
2 days till cut off and still only 35% off on my account. Not coming back anyway this time but will post how low they eventually go.0 -
That will be because you can only have one offer at a time. A new offer usually cancels a current one.I was gonna add Sky Movies to my package since it'd cost around £20 total for 9 months or so with Sky's current offer and my discount, plus you can get £40 cashback. Likely to be an offer of 50% off any package or free Samsung Galaxy Tab available to you immediately after you've been switched off. That's where I've been since I was switched off on 16th October.
Had a letter in the post a couple of weeks ago offering 33% off any package for 5 years. Last few days I've missed several calls from 0800 051 2592 which I think is Sky's win back team.
Last night they caught me when I was at home. Call began by being asked again for confirmation regarding why I'd cancelled. I reaffirmed that I was skint and couldn't afford Sky any longer. I also wasn't in the mood for haggling because I'm happy to save £93.75 per month for the time being (I had full package, HD and x2 Multiroom) plus I haven't missed Sky either
The polite lady at Sky ended the call with a comment about how she hoped my financial situation improved real soon and that I would be welcomed back any time with the 50% offer still on the table.
I'll continue to post updates here if I receive further calls or mail with offers. Think I may have earned a period of peace and quiet from them for the time being though, fingers crossed.0 -
I love it when you prove $ky Customer Retentions to be absolutely full of sh1te !!
Snotty lady when we gave notice said she had put a note on the account that £20 was max discount we could have EVER, after the run we've had over the past few years. blah blah blah blah blah.
$ky went off yesterday and thought I would logon to the account today.
"Come Back To $ky, free Galaxy Tab or 50% off for 12 months"
Total out and out jokers, adult kids moaning a bit so will let them have a sub if they want with the discount, I'm out though, quite liking Freesat Freetime and a Netflix / Amazon sub on the Kindle Fire TV.0 -
Lol its funny because you use $ky instead of sky. Not.0

I only have the Original bundle (or what was the Entertainment bundle) and the promotion I had finished so my subscription went back up to £21.50/month. I called to cancel and was offered £16.50 month immediately. After a few days I received a call back offering 35% off which I declined and eventually received 50% off.0

Hi all,
I have been watching this thread with interest, was on the old system of having Sports and the HD pack and paying £56 a month.
Cancelled and was offered 35% off as usual. Resisted this and it has now changed to the Galaxy Tab or 50% offer.
I notice though that this says 50% off any bundle
Does this mean that to get sports in hd back I would need to get the family pack and sports but only get 50% off one of the two bundles?
Or is it just a flat 50% off?
Any help appreciated0 -
The Family Bundle (which includes basic channels in HD) & Sky Sports (in SD) would be treated as one package- so you'd get 50% off both. The HD Pack for premium channels (£5.25 per month) is not normally discounted with these offers, but you can add it at full price to your discounted package.Ricky_Otto wrote: »Does this mean that to get sports in hd back I would need to get the family pack and sports but only get 50% off one of the two bundles?

So, for example, Family Pack (£33 per month) + Sky Sports (£24.50) = £57.50 = £28.75 with 50% discount. Add HD Pack at £5.25 per month= £34.00 per month.0 -
Post 6945 above is 100% correct.
Just to emphasise they can also credit your account on top of this 50% discount.
Also currently you can get discount (I got 35%) on an existing multiroom installation.0
