I've been haggling for quite a number of years.
I haggle with the AA, CIS motor insurance, and Plusnet every year. I've been with the first 2 for nearly 20 years and Plusnet for 3.
I'm really friendly on the phone and listen to their best offer, then I ask for Retentions. So far, I have managed to save 50%+ per annum with the AA and CIS, and with Plusnet I am still paying only £24.49 per month (the price I was originally paying) for line rental, anytime calls and 10 gig BB, and last time they gave me unlimited BB as a free upgrade. :T
Recently, my local Spar was clearing food from the chiller that was going out of date the next day. I offered £1 for three items, saving £3.
Curry's was the only place haggling failed. I needed a microwave and the 'last' one was the display model, on special offer. They refused a further reduction. I walked.
If you don't ask, you don't get! :rotfl:Needs, NOT wants!
No food waste since November 2010. :j

Chatted to their online operator who was willing to do 50% off Sky TV (50% off appeared on MySky) but wasn't willing to do the half price on HD or multiroom.
Anyone had any success on getting 50% off HD and multiroom?
Also, any chance the 50% could increase if I hold off for longer (can hold off another month if its happens, as I'll be away).
thanks
I got Sports HD for £1 PM for 12 months. If you are new to sky MR they have a standing 1/2 price offer to all new customers + free install and box. I read some people managed to get MR down to £2.50 PM for 12 months. Sky were sending out flyers to those who recently cancelled their MR subs so you could just try your hand and pretend you got one.0 -
Has anyone got any experience of getting a discount after cancelling Tv only with Sky?
Have currently got a package with phone, broadband and TV, last year I negotiated a 50% discount for 3 months followed by 25%for 9 months plus Sky HD box, new dish and free set up. This deal is coming to an end and my payments are set to rise to £92.90 per month so I'm looking for another deal.
Whilst I can live without the TV,(I'd happily give it up completely but hubby wants sports to watch the footy),I don't want the hassle of being without my landline and broadband if the call my bluff and cut us off.0 -
Just saved myself over £80. They wanted £172.20 for 12 months upfront line rental and £4.25/month for first 6 months rising to £8.50 for next 6 months for the broadband. After asking for my MAC they reduced the line rental to £141.00 and the broadband to £2.25/month for the full twelve months. :j0

Sky treat them as separate entities so if you just cancel the TV they will likely offer you a deal to to keep it. People usually get 50%+ off once the TV actually goes off but you maybe be able to get what you want when they call during the 31 days.0 -
Be slightly careful with HD.
I believe (Could be wrong) that the TV 50% dicount and credit with no contract deal is (Usually) only without HD.
HD I think means a new 12 month subscription.
My account which is currently 75% discount with £100 credit (December 2013) allowed me for a while to add HD for £1.25 if I wanted. Meant a 12 month contract though so if I did it in Month 4 of my 12 month deal I would be committing to paying full price for the TV for 4 months from Dec 2014.0 -

I just managed to get a deal from Sky via their online chat facility. Not as good as others, but I'm quite happy with it.
We did have the full package, including Sports and Movies, plus multi room and HD. I've removed the movies, sports and multi room and downgraded to just the Variety pack. They then offered 20% off for 8 months, but wouldn't give me anything better. I'm quite pleased, the subscription has reduced from almost £80 a month to £22.40 for 8 months and £28 after that.
I would like to move the line rental and broadband to them as well and apparently they will pay for my previous provider's cancellation fees up to £100 (in the form of a voucher). I'm hoping to get a deal on the line rental and broadband. I've seen offers others are getting on here of half price line rental and free broadband for a year so am keeping my fingers crossed I get the same!0 -
Earlier today via the chat I got 50% off all TV except hd for 12 months. Came to 38.25. I then did online chat with broadband and got half price line rental for 12 months and 75% off fibre for 12 months. Couldn't blag any credit on the account but really happy with the result. Oh i got free installation and free hub with free delivery as well so I can sell the old one.0

Anyone manage to get the 1 month free movies offer currently on sky homepage when you have 1/2 price discount on your account? I was told by a few CS agents that they couldn't add it to my account for free.0
