50% plus £50 credit becomes the poorer deal if your monthly bill is just over £41.

That is me just off the online chat, sky been switched off since 22 july.

Just agreed 12 months at half price. (sports & variety pack) didnt barter for anything else. Said i did not want HD and multiscreen, offered me HD at £8 per month.

I will see if i can get both for half price per my previous 12 month deal. Now on my 5th year in a row at half price.

i had contacted the live chat last week to be told i had no offers.

When i told the first online chat person about how long i had been switched off for he immediately transferred me to the win back team.

For some strange reason had to make a £5 payment up front to be re-connected, said the £5 would be deducted from my first bill.

So online chat can transfer you to the winback team ?

I was told by an online chatter that they couldnt. :(

Captain89 - thats an incredible discount on your whole package. Im aiming for 50% off TV , and free line rental - youve inspired me. Im 11 days away from my TV cancelling, with no offers to date at all, and have told them im reviewing my broadband. I guess I will nil chance of big discount on my line rental whilst Im 'cancelling' my TV ?

    Hi guys

On the phone today and was offered 50% off TV for six months after a debate but with a new 12 month contract. If there was no tie-ie I would have taken it but they said they couldn't do that.

I don't think this is a great deal so went ahead and cancelled and was then told I would have to pay the £2.50 a month charge on my BB which is currently free as part of an o2 migration last year in October.

I'm pretty sure it never mentioned anywhere you have to be a TV customer to get the FREE broadband if you took line-rental and such I don't see why I should pay £2.50 a month albeit for 2 months.

Does anyone remember the T&C of the deal for FREE BB.

TV wise, do the 35% / 50% offers agree a new 12 month contract (I would think so) but I think this is fine if it's for 12 months.

    Cheers

I have been inundated with emails and letters offering 50% off since sky was switched off.
Nobody in our house is actually missing sky though we are all pleased with freesat so me and the wife are so happy that they did not give us a decent enough offer to stay with them before cancellation :)
Cancelled the fibre and telephone as well and gone with plusnet so our fibre and phone has gone from £40.40 to £23.45 for 9 months and the £110 topcashback has just been paid into our account.
    Bye sky :)

Right - last week I cancelled Sky TV, tonight Sky Broadband as I'm moving to BT. No offers but it does seem a lottery with them. Sky free in September! :)

Yes it's their standard terms. Everyone that migrated from O2 was offered free BB for a year. You then added on supplements of 32.50 for not having TV and £5.00 for not having Sky Line rental.

My 50% offer is with no tie-in. Sometimes the HD package is only offered with a discount if there is a tie-in. Often there is no discount for HD package.
  • Posted this in virgin retentions thread, but thought it worthwhile putting here to.

Just had a VM retentions deal from last year run out. Rang and cancelled as there's a Sky web link that gives VM customers 50% off TV, inc movies and sports, and the normal Sky broadband offers (eg. £10 sky fibre unlimited for 12 months if you take sports). VM said they couldn't get anywhere close when I rang to cancel.

Got the 'call back' 2 days after cancelling and got offered.

    TV XL
    Sports
    BB 152Mb
    Phone M inc line rental
    £58.99 p/m for 12 months.

I was happy enough with this so took it.

Don't think I can post links so feel free to PM me if you want the Sky link for VM customers, as it isn't easily found.

half price hd now agreed for 12 months. was offered a free hd+ box and free installation if i took multiscreen at full price, he would not budge on a reduction in the monthly multiscreen cost.

    edit
Just noticed that a free hd box is on offer for anyone taking mulitscreen.

    will try again.

so now got half price variety and sports pack and half price HD
