I meant to ask. I have set my TV cancellation in play, but is there a way of getting any reduction on the line rental meantime ?
I cant afford to lose my broadband for the next 3 weeks, so darent 'cancel' that. Ultimately I may go for the sky fibre if can get an offer. But Id like to see if can get at least half price line rental meantime.
You could call and ask for one but any deal on the pl usually comes with a new 12 month contract. I called and asked for free phoneline(didn't say I was gonna cancel) and they just gave it to me but said I'd be in a new 12 month contract which was a no brainer.0 -
I believe my phone and broadband are 10 days behind tv, as though I accepted at the same time, tv was installed first. It's something I need to check.0

Ten days before my TV is due to go off they sent me an email offering 35% off TV for 12 months.
Phoned them up and said I was calling about an email they sent. I didn't mention the 35% figure.
Got offered 50% off TV for 12 months and with a bit of haggling they've allowed me to have the 50% off fibre deal on top for having Sky Sports.
Doesn't include multiroom subscriptions though but I took the offer. Cuts my bill down nicely.
Not sure if it's a case of ask for 35% and you'll get that but 50% is on the system for them to offer or what but if you do get such an email, I highly recommend if you call them not to mention the 35% figure.0 -

My son received the 35% off email with about 10 days to go before cut off. Despite me telling him to wait he phoned anyway a few days later with the intent of haggling to get more.
He told them about his 35% off email. They told him there wasn't any offer on his account but they could give him 50% off!
A short while later he got another email saying sorry you are leaving but phone us up to see what we can do.0 -

Taking that Fiber deal means you've signed up for a new 18 month contract for phone and fiber. You'll have the discount for the first 12 but then will be paying full wack for the last 6 months.0 -
Currently on 50% Family pack deal and paid line rental upfront. I was paying £3.75 for BB . Gave notice on tv as they could only offer discount however I am staying with them for phone and broadband. New 12 month contract free max broadband and line-rental £140 for the year. Not fussed about losing the TV to be honest. I have a free sat recorder. V happy with broadband and phone deal as pretty competitive and no hassle of moving.0

Yes, I'm aware of that but as I'm not paying anything for phone for a while due to a previous deal I can live with it and the TV is only for 12 months after which I can leave (which will be easier since Sky won't have Champions League).
Over the 12 months of the deal I've got, the savings will more than make up for paying full price for phone and fibre for six months.0 -
Had a classic one yesterday, left Sky TV in Feb, kept getting leaflets with the 50% through. As the footie season is coming back, went to the comebacktosky webaddress on the back of the leaflet and started a webchat - first offer was 50% off, said that wasn't enough, then offered 60% which I accepted (that was for the full package so about £31)..had to pay £5 to reactivate account (which I would get back the following month)..that was done, at that point they said you haven't got 60% on your account I can only do 50% - is that ok - erm no you offered me 60%! Best they could do was 50% and £50 credit knocked it on the head as I wanted the original offer of 60%. Mentioned something about putting in on file to contact me should 60% become available. That was an hour wasted!0

I don't know how people got such good deals - did you spend a lot on Box Office / Sky Store or something because they simply do not seem bothered to "win-back" or prior to that "retain" me.I think the 50% off is available to pretty much everyone who had their sky TV switched of recently. Either they offer it to you through calls, letters in the post, messages on mysky or you calling up and asking for it to come back(claiming you got it in the post even if you haven't).
Once you have all the equipment in place it costs sky very little to send you a sat signal which is why they offer people these deals in the first place. Its helps their bottom line + keeps subscriber numbers up. If you don't ask then you don't get and sky know most won't ask. You may have to push a little more these days to get what you want but the deals are still there.
i thought that a lot depends on if you really have a viable alternative to sky? we're not in a cabled area so can't get Virgin, offering from BT is very poor & not comparable to what we've had with Sky for the past 16 years or so - obviously Sky know this, we've had some discounts in the past but nothing like the amounts people on here get offered, but then they've been in cabled areas.
this is why i'm so wary of going down the disconnect route, i'm sure we wouldn't get offered anything, even if we went through the full process (which i don't really want to do & OH would kill me if he lost any sports!).
