I have cancelled. Sky went off 5 days ago. Got no offers during my 30 day cancellation period and had nothing since... No emails, flyers, calls. All my details are correct and opted in to marketing etc

As I said, give it 2 or 3 weeks and you will get inundated with them! I've had yet another flyer through the post today. I think that makes it 4 or 5 since I cancelled!

What I dont get tho is if you cancel online, do they put you thru to the disconnections team online, as they sometimes offer you a deal to stop ?
If you use the correct link- "Cancel Sky TV" is at https://contactus.sky.com/uk/sky-tv/cancel-sky-tv - then I found that that the employee who answered had the authority to cancel and wanted to discuss "all the options I have for you". I don't know whether that would have led to an offer, as I was adamant that the only outcome I sought was cancellation.

The different "Contact Us" Live Chat links have different opening times, which suggests that they may be "task specific", and you've got to select the correct link to get somebody who's authorised to process the cancellation etc.

Live Chat for cancellations has shorter hours than others- "8:30am to 8pm, 7 days a week".
  • Still no offers through the door a week after cancellation took effect but I had to call sky yesterday as I was being given contradictory info with regards to my switching of phone line / broadband to EE. Got that sorted, and while I was there thought I'd ask if there was anything on my account with regards to the TV. Was put through to the Win Back team who straight away gave me the 50% discount on everything except multiroom, no contract and a £50 credit. Was basically seen as a new customer.

So, for those not keen on waiting, you may want to chance your arm. Multiroom now seems disproportionally expensive under this deal (around 25% of my bill) so may see if I really get use out of it - as not in contract can cancel (and they may offer an incentive to stay!)

Can anybody please confirm if the 50% offers include the £10 you pay for HD ?

Last week a work colleague was offered 33% off their TV packagae, but they didnt take that off the HD £10 .

The offers I've received, albeit by mail, exclude movies & sport in HD.

Therefore, the discounted offer includes basic channels in HD if choosing the "Family Bundle", but the £5.25 per month HD movies/sport add-on if added, is not discounted.

i have bt sport through sky, currently paying 15 quid a month.

phoned to cancel today as they are putting another £1.50 on top in a price increase.

got offered and took bt sport for £11 a month for the next 12 months.

    £8 quid for the sport
    still £3 for the hd

will be paying 11 quid instead of £16.50

if i had pressed it sure i would have got the hd discounted and maybe the whole lot for half price.

tbh, happy enough with £11 a month and a 30 second phone call.

my last deal was 50 per cent of tv, hd and multiscreen.

however i cancelled the tv first, got that back with 50 per cent.

once that was in place cancelled the hd/multiscreen, was then given 50 per cent off that although how they did it was strange, think it worked out as 60 per cent off hd and 40 off multiscreen to get to the 50 per cent

I have 50% of Sky TV but have been refused 1/2 price on the sports and movie HD package many times (£5 extra PM). If your hd pack costs £10 then you would be on the older packages so not sure how they treat them when it comes to discounts.
