Asked if this was their best offer as I was tempted by Virgin's deals.
They then upped their offer to 60% off.
I went for the Variety Package @ £10.80 (goes up a few pence in Sept) - for 12 months.
I think I was missing the full use of the Sky+ the most though.
so did you actually have your line cancelled, before you were offered the 60%?
i am calling them nxt week so shall see. but do not want to actually be cancelled. but would be happy to go through the 30 cancel notice but not actually be cancelled.
hopefully they won't call my bluff0 -

Most of the decent offers only come about after you have actually been cut off. This is obviously easier to do if it's just the TV you are talking about.
You might be offered something by saying you want to cancel but it's unlikely to be anything like 50%/60% off for 12 months.0 -
I am trying to haggle with Sky! When you're quoting discounts you've obtained - is this off the total package - TV/Phone/BB - we have all of it and last July rang and said its too much - got 30% reduction to £70 - but Ive just phoned as our deal is ending this month and girl said nowhere near that - lose HD and it will still be £82 a month! Seems crazy!
So my query is when you're talking 50% is this off the full packages with all the bundles etc and the phone/BB?
Thanks0 -
sky just phoned me.
offered me 35 per cent discount on tv, multiscreen and hd.
politely turned it down and pointed out the increased charged coming in september.
told the guy i would try and live without sky, but knew if i could not live without sky i could phone them.
The sky guy asked to update my preferences so that i could be contacted with offers once i lost sky.
no doubt that is when i will get my 50 per cent back.0 -
Cancelled mine and it was switched off on Tuesday.Got the comeback to sky 50% offer so gave them a call .I pointed out the increase in prices in September so 50% would only be really 40% then as they are going up 10% .So they gave me 60% off for 12 months with no contract so i took them up i now have my sky back on .Was going to switch to bt youview but exchange wasn't multicast enabled ,now when it is i can switch sky off :beer:Nice to save.0

Cancelled TV today - was going to canx Phone and BB too - but cant actually be without that - she did offer free BB for12 months on new contract making is £17.90 as its £2.50 more for line rental for non-tv customers so ill look at BT and others before deciding on that - was trying for good discount but offered virtually nothing - we'll see what comes now - the 50% deal on the log in page once you log in to sky - where does that normally show please?0

Hmm so some of you are seeing the 50% off offer on My Sky page. My Sky stopped on Monday but I don't see it anywhere! Clicking on the My Sky offers page this comes up "Unfortunately we are unable to show your exclusive offers available online. To continue or for more information, please call 03442 411 818"
So for those of you getting this message what have you done? I have decided to wait a little while longer cos I don't want to be seen as somebody who is missing Sky!0 -

So there is a fee. So presumably if you wait the full 30 days after cancelling and you are disconnected you will have to pay a substantial fee to be reconnected to BT or Virgin or wherever you go???0 -

Yes. You better get a MAC Code from Sky to move to another provider so you can avoid getting stung by those fees!0 -

I find this confusing. Most people, I would expect would prefer not to do without TV and broadband for a couple of days or longer while they wait for a better offer from Sky which may or may not come and would therefore have another supplier in place at the end of the 30 day term.
Are Sky really going to wait until after the 30 day cancellation to offer me a new deal?? Hope not because by that time I will have almost definitely have a Virgin engineer out at the house digging up the garden to install the cable! I'm not going to go through all that to then cancel it all to stay with Sky.
Surely this is not how Sky operate and if so they surely lose a lot of custom...0
