Call from the 01332 Derby number although the same day got a 50% flyer bizarrely? Phone call opened with 75% though, only negotiation was getting HD under same discount as we were coming from 11 months totally free but they drop the HD when offering that.0 -

Yep, that was available. Nice one.
Now, I'm not saying for one minute that everyone will be able to follow that lead, obviously, each account will have offers unique to it, based on that individual accounts status.
However, in some circumstances, you can take the lead and not wait for a flyer or offer to hit your doormat/account.0 -
As above, I hadn't recieved anything from sky and phoned up claiming I had a 50% message on my account (I hadn't), Sky then offered me that same discount.
Regardless, I suppose it's a harmless "fib" which some people might feel comfortable using as an opening "gambit".
Well done on your discount.0 -
Answering your question about why a £50 credit was applied in addition to 50% discount.
When the win back team called me I was humming and hawing to even his 75% discount to my entertainment package with sports and movies.
He then without prompting offered £100 credit. I think the sweetener on this is clearly that you are paying Zero per month for quite a while.
I class myself as very fortunate this time. The gentleman told me now that Sky have offered me such a "good" deal it made it even more obvious that I should play the "same game" next year. He fully understood it would be mad to expect a subscriber to go from £74 a year to £696 a year, and thus your position is even stronger (His quote).
Again I emphasise, even though I have been switched back on since Dec 27th, I still have received 2 come back to sky letters at 50%.0 -

A bit like Sky's "fib" when you try to cancel via MySky (even though this is an option in the T&Cs) that you need to call them for some further "security" checks.I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying0 -
Just out of interest, how long do you need to have left Sky in order to be classed as "new" for things like any offers and cashback from TopCashback?I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it through not dying0

I did make negative noises when they rang to offer 50% off. I was honest and said I felt miffed when others paid less than me. He agreed and said would 50 credit make a difference? Yeah why not.
It's not a game. You need to pay what it's worth to you. To me £10 a month is good value but no more. It's a tv which you already pay for with your license fee. I'm willing to pay for the ability to pause and the extra channels. I refuse to pay for movies and have no interest in sport.
When it goes above the £10 I'll cancel the extra part of the entertainment. When it goes back to full price I'll cancel again.
Maybe they should price it more reasonably and then fix the prices. Forget all the mucking around, they'd save a fortune in the cost of having such a big retention team...0
