I called this afternoon to put my cancellation in. I was on the phone for 30 mins going through everything again! The offer was 20% off, which was £55 instead of £67. That was bad enough but they also expected me to pay £49 for a HD box. This put there offer up to the same as the one I got what I phoned last week.
My TV package will be cut off on 2nd Feb. unless they call with an acceptable offer which for me is a minimum of 75% and a free box.Nice to save.0 -
Fingers crossed you get a call in a few days
I cancelled after my first year last June and within 5 days sky had called and offered me 50% off which I declined, they then offered me the full package for free for 6 months :j Unfortunately my offer ran out last month so I had to cancel and now it's gone off, I haven't had a word off them this time

Here's hoping I get a phone call, eek!0 -

That's possibly expecting a bit much, the 75% deals are normally dependent on Sky just switching it back on with existing equipment? In my eyes it's sort of a lost leader, they are getting some money from you without any work other than switching your sky on with equipment you already still have?
I just bought a HD box with wifi adapter for £33 on ebay for the adult kids who pay their own multiroom? Might we best to get your discount first and then swap to your own HD box afterwards.0 -
Agree with the last poster. The win back team with the big discounts literally switch you back on as they chat on the line.
No financial outlay for sky.0 -
Called to cancel today. Have been with them 20ish years. No offers.
Not to bothered if they call back tbh as cash is tight and its not an essential. Plus with only having the entertainment and HD I probably don't make them enough money to care.Sigless0 -
I was just wondering, I am in contract for sky phone and fibre bb, does that mean sky wouldn't have bothered offering me a deal to keep the sky tv anyway? Has anyone else got a call without cancelling the whole sky account?
Well they have 3 months, I've just started my free trial of netflix, next month it will be lovefilm and then now tv lol, if they don't contact me I'll just use the money I have saved to buy the humax box, thanks to blistering blue for the link to the a grade box
I was in the same situation as you, was offered 30/50% off and eventually the 75% which I accepted. Whilst they were trying to sign me up for the 75% off deal I was told they couldn't offer me that deal as I was on sky fibre/talk"I don't want to sound cold and un-caring, but I am those things so that's the way it comes out" - Bill Hicks0 -

Did you just go without sky tv then or did they sort something out for you in the end?

Cancelled newyears eve. Purely due to cost have everything except sports. Mainly watch movies and kids channels documentaries etc. told them it was purely financial as liked sky but will manage to live without it with free view which is built in to our tvs and a love film subscription. Best they could do was £12 a month off so £3 a week ish. Told them to cancel. Got call tonight asking why we were leaving was there a problem with service etc. I replied service was fine but bills with box office etc normally £90 a month without tv will be £30 odd. Explained I'd lose ff rewind record told them we were buying humax recorders and A love film subscription. He asked if the initial customer service rep would have made a good offer to stay would we have. I said it would have had to been a really good offer as we were genuinely ringing up to cancel not fishing for offers and once we've paid for the outlay if the set too then we only have to pay the love film subscription which is a lot less than the 50 quidish we pay now . I told him she had offered £12 off which was not enough to make is change our mind. He didn't even tell me any other offers just thanked me for my time and said if I wanted to discuss anything to ring 150. If they ring back with 75% would snatch their hand off otherwise looks like its humax and a film subscription.....0
