Been with Sky for 10 years have full pack movies & sports and broadband but not sky talk or sky+hd.
Want to reduce the price and get sky+ hd whats the best way to go about it?
Will they provide a sky+hd box free?

You need to make sure you're going through to retentions.
I believe people have had some luck saying that they can't afford the box or that their current box is faulty.
Don't threaten to cancel unless you intend on doing so, but just make it clear that given the economic climate something will have to give and food is more important than sky....0 -
I got the HD package now with £100 M&S vouchers for an extra £10.25 a month, quite happy with that.
What should I do with the White Sky+ box, ebay it or something?0 -
Oh and some people seem to say that you should hide the current bot when the engineer comes out as they have been known to take them...0

Thanks daggy, I opted for self install in case of this!

Hello All,
My partner and I decided to sign up with Sky earlier today. I posted this separately but thought i'd pop it here as well!
Online we noticed the offer for £100 M&S vouchers, as one who doesn't often go in M&S i thought it worth ringing up and finding out if there was something we could have instead...
So, on the phone we went. Signed up for Large BB, Medium Tele with sky sports and HD including the HD+ Box. Plus, we were given £50 credit to the account [MUCH better!] as well as £50 M&S vouchers!
Therefore, it's definately worth an ask on the telephone if you'd rather some of the vouchers as credit - plus, we are new customers, don't even have the loyalty of others.
I'm going to give it 6mnths [1st 3 mnths are about £6 cheaper, then it goes to the full price] then phone up and see if i can haggle anything else out of them!
Hope this helps someone,

Are you seriously going to to threaten to leave a twelve month contract, after six months and demand a discount?
Be prepared for a bit of laughing from the other side. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

She never said she was going to threaten to leave;merely attempt to make some further savings.
It's unlikely that sky will do anything spectacular, but you never know what savings will be available in 6 months.0 -
I've been with Sky for 2 years, have the full Sky World Package with HD paying £62 per month.
Just called them up to cancel as now saving for a wedding so needed to make savings. I asked if there were any deals at the moment to try and convince me to stay and said that if they discounted my TV package I'd move my phone line and broadband to them but was told there are no deals at the moment. They have to think of money too and if they gave everyone a special offer they'd be losing too much money themselves.
As I was quite prepared to cancel I've done just that. 31 days notice before it all goes through they said.
If they send me a letter in the Summer with a 50% discount I'll sign up again. If not then I can live without it. Will miss the Sky+ features more than the channels.
As others have said, only threaten to cancel if you are willing to cancel. Someone in a call centre really isn't that bothered if they have your business or not.0
