Currently have full package, ESPN, HD and 2 multiroom subscriptions.

Called on Sunday to remove Sports, ESPN (no football over summer) and Movies and was offered 20% off for 3 months !!!

Been with Sky since 1997 and never had an offer/reduction and this is first time of reducing package.

Almost told them to cancel whole package.
  • Watch out if you decide to use the Topcashback site to order Sky. I ordered Sky through them a few weeks back to take advantage of the £106 cashback deal, my order went through fine but a few days later, I received an email from Sky stating that my order has been cancelled.
I spoke to Sky but they could not give me a reason, they put it down to a computer glitch and recommended that I try again. So I did, I placed another order again through TopCashBack, again my order was cancelled through Sky, again Sky could not give a reason and this time recommended that I place the order there and then over the phone.
I emailed TopCashBack about my problem and they don't want to know, stating that because I ordered over the phone, there would be no cashback.
So be careful if you want your money.
  • Every year when my 12 month contract with sky comes to end - bearing in mind i have sky talk, broadband, sky world HD, multiroom and ESPN so it should cost me £110 per month and I pay £52 a month - I cancel it they offer 6 months half price which I say no to, leave it for about a month and they send me a letter offering half price for a year (this is the 3rd year I've done it and works every time!) although my friend left it for nearly 4 months and they offered her a year free (i'm not sure i could cope without sky for longer than a month so I personally would never wait that long!)

As the title says, got offered 6 months at 20% discount and turned it down. They wouldnt budge on it so I bit the bullet and cancelled. Hopefully I'l get an offer through on sports at the end of summer lol.;)

I got this offer last month, as I said in an earlier post I have been with them nearly 10 years.

However I never went through to cancellations/retentions I just phoned up general customer service and asked if any offers were available to my account.

I will be making that "cancellation phone call tonight"

    Has this been asked before?

Sky is in my name. Can I cancel mine and my husband take out a new plan? Could he say I have left and taken the box with me?

We've been with them for years and never had so much of a sniff of a bargain and we got connected well before CB was around so thought I would ask.

I'm not too sure, they may just go by your address. But I would imagine they want the business back and a nice fresh 12 month contract so beware if your on a rolling monthly contract at the minute.

But if your not on a 12 month contract ring them up and "threaten to cancel" because it's too expensive etc, a lot of users on here have reported getting the 50% off deal for 6 months just to keep them as a customer. Haggle haggle!
  • I am SOOOOOOO angry that they are now offering £100 M&S voucher to upgrade to HD when i only did mine last week - rang up and expressed disappointment and they told me tough can't do anything about it! Raging - still might cancel as part of 31days cooling off period!

I'm pretty sure the advert was valid last week, as it was in the metro and on there site.

However a fair few users report that after the 45 day period they still haven't received the vouchers and the untold calls to 0845 numbers to chase up the vouchers hasn't been worth it....

As long as you received the free HD box and free installation you shouldn't be too disappointed because sooo many people (not just on this forum) have said that it's ridiculous what you have to go through to receive the vouchers.
