I am thinking about phoning sky to see if I can get a discount but also want to upgrade to SkyHD. Would I be better off trying to see if I can get a discount before I upgrade?0

Phoned Sky as digibox was malfunctioning. Was told it would cost £65 to repair. Did channel audit as MSE recommends, then phoned Sky Customer Retentions. Told them I was thinking of leaving as for the cost of the repair I could buy a FreeSat box. Ok I wouldn't get Sky Sports, but that's really all I'd miss from full Sky package and £600 a year is a lot to pay for that. Operator straightaway offered new Sky+ HD box with no installation charge and no HD subscription. Also offered to replan my package around what channels I watch. Did that and it came out to £41.75 per month. I asked if that's best I could do as it was still high - two months of that and I could buy a FreeSat box. She said she's received an email in the past hour about possible further discounts - would I hold while she read it. Outcome is that I get new Sky+ HD box installed free and 25% off the cost of whichever Sky package I chose for 6 months. Not bad.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

Have sky hd, talk, broadband max and 2 multiroom sky +. Its costing a rediculous 80 something pounds a month. One multiroom needs cancelling as dd never here now, but wondered if theres any chance of getting a hd box for other multiroom and some sort of reduction on the monthly cost? thanks.0

Just called Sky to cancel and got 6 months half price with no hassle at all:j
That's interesting! I once did the same with LoveFilm, but it's now a year later, I've not used 1 DVD and kept the subscription. Only worth it if you're actually going to use it I think is the lesson I should learn here!0 -

Sky is in my name. Can I cancel mine and my husband take out a new plan? Could he say I have left and taken the box with me?
We've been with them for years and never had so much of a sniff of a bargain and we got connected well before CB was around so thought I would ask.
I wouldn't leave and rejoin
I'm trying to join sky from virgin and the offers are poor, infact there are no package discounts, just free installation etc
the 6 months half price deals that existing customers are getting are far better0 -
Just called up and the first thing they offered within less than 5 minutes on the phone was half price for 6 months :T very happy with that
Anyone know whether if I now upgrade online to SkyHD (taking the M&S offer) will it effect my discount?0 -
Watch out if you decide to use the Topcashback site to order Sky. I ordered Sky through them a few weeks back to take advantage of the £106 cashback deal, my order went through fine but a few days later, I received an email from Sky stating that my order has been cancelled.
I spoke to Sky but they could not give me a reason, they put it down to a computer glitch and recommended that I try again. So I did, I placed another order again through TopCashBack, again my order was cancelled through Sky, again Sky could not give a reason and this time recommended that I place the order there and then over the phone.
I emailed TopCashBack about my problem and they don't want to know, stating that because I ordered over the phone, there would be no cashback.
So be careful if you want your money.

Family have been with Sky for almost 20 years (bar 3 years or so when we decided not to have it at the end of the 90s). Phoned them up and the first person I spoke to just said "Well you can get rid of the Sky Sports and Multiroom options and that'll make things cheaper for you". Told them I would give them a call the next day. Which I did.
Got offered 6 months on Sky Sports but no offer on the multi-room - so would have cost me c.£22.40 per month for 6 months, but would have to pay the additional £10.25 still for multiroom. Told them I would have a think, and speak to the rest of the family. Decided that if Multiroom wasn't free or at least half-price that we would cancel, and just live with the free to air channels.
Called them back on Day 3, and asked if they could do a deal on the Multi-room, and the girl said that wasn't possible. So I requested to cancel my Sky contract (a lot of the time it was paying the full whack for c.17 years), and the girl was like ok, no problems. Not once did she try and attempt to keep my business.
Not to worry - saves me £55 per month this way, and we shall see what comes through in the next month or so by way of offers - but I'm not expecting anything miraculous2021

I have just had the same thing happen to me. Went through Topcashback, transaction registered and then after 3 days, it was cancelled. I should have had £106.50 cashback. I am really frustrated because not only has that failed but SKY have now said that I will only received £50 M&S VOUCHER, even though the thing that finally persuaded me and my husband to go for it was the £100 voucher and cashback. I have been with Virgin for ages and paid almost £80 for V+, phone and broadband unlimited.
Can anyone help as I have lodged a missing cashback claim with Topcashback who then put it on ice for three days. I have tried to resubmit and now it is saying there is no record of the date of the transaction, even though three days earlier, it is plain there was. SKY have just been completely arrogant and just started arguing saying it is impossible to get a voucher AND cashback and I must be imagining it. I am 1 day from cancelling the lot.:(0
