    At risk from what?

If the screenshot had all their personal details on such as name and address. I thought that would be obvious.

But, the point does need to be made, like it has been from many posters on here, you must be willing to cancel and live without it if you want to be given a good deal. As I said, I could happily live without it and when offered the initial 50% just told the operative (who was extremely helpful and polite, by the way) to go ahead and cancel - no iffs or buts! You do need to be willing to actually go through with the cancellation. Before my last 75% deal, we lived happily without Sky for a few months. Well, I say happily, but you do miss the 'Plus' features for a little while!

    Cheers.

Sky think people wont cancel, the trick is to go ahead with, in the past I have cancelled it and not phoned back. The reason I phoned this time was to make sure I do get cancelled as I have a few big bills and didn't want any unnecessary money going out. The reason they probably offering sky sports as well is cause they lost most football games to bt, and want people to stay with them?? But thsts just my theory. My brother always gives in the them. He is paying over £50 for sports and entertainment, he gives in too early. Told him to cancel despite what they offer. They will write to him, or he can call back one day before cut off and try to see whether he gets what I did. Or he can have my sky go account ;)

I wasn't doubting you I mean its literally hard to believe how did you manage it.

It was the advisor who suggested it would he cheaper with the sports, as long as they get money in, its a subcription they don't lose.

Strange.. I just called Virgin to cancel, and was told I'm on an 18mth contract  She said if I wanted to cancel before I would be charged 40 something pounds!

I argued that I was told it was a 12mth contract at the beginning, and she admitted sometimes people are told they're on a 12mth, but then it's put on the system as 18mth!

My 12mths will be up 10th Oct, and she then said as 'good will' they will let me cancel if I call back tomorrow, and waive the charge :)

I have an explanation for those of us with the new HD Pack but it not appearing on bills. I got a letter from Sky today saying that until at least 1st December, the Sky Sports HD is free for those with Entertainment Extra+ and Sky Sports.
  • we now get bt sports free as we are on bt broadband. is it still worth subscribing to sky sports? who has since cancelled sky sports?

Are you kidding? BT Sport has just 38 Premier League games, while Sky Sports is actually showing 116 which is more than they have ever done.
I bet Sky love that they can trundle that fact out. They never elaborate to explain that 116 games is one more than the 115 games they've shown for the last 3 seasons (at least). More than ever, indeed. :D
  • Just wondering if anyone having problems with talktalk TV?

Getting BT Sports free is a nice little bonus for football fans, but it hardly replaces the need for Sky Sports if you want to see the vast majority of televised games!

Sky didn't "lose" any games to BT. BT bought the rights which ESPN had (And Santander etc earlier) together with some extra games the Premier League offered. Sky is prevented from buying all the rights (just as BT is) and so did not "lose".

Where are people getting this information?

The point is that they haven't "lost" anything to BT. BT just has more games than ESPN had. I'm not simply spouting Sky propaganda!:D

    Er problem!!

I just rang sky and told them I want to cancel my package which is £37.25 for SKY Entertainment Extra HD, £7.50 for Broadband plus £14.50 for Sky talk, totalling practically £60 a month.

The guy offered my half price HD and that was it!!

I said I wanted to switch as Id worked out over 18 months Id save over £500 going to btsport (which is true). He gave me the usual spiel but I said I wanted the rugby plus it was too high in general, and I didn't watch that many channels in any case.

I used to have Skysports but got rid in May and was going to replace in August but BT came along so I was waiitng till my contract expired later this month. To try and get a better rate.

The guy offered my half price HD and that was it!! I sounded keen to switch all the way through like it was very matter of fact I was switching, and now I've just checked my sky account and the TV subscription has already to be scheduled to be removed in 31 days!!
I'm wondering if I was too convincing! Or are thy just not interested?

I dont want to switch at all, I really want SKYsports, have I shot myself in the plums or should I cross my finger and hope they call me back.

    What are my chances?
    thanks
