I got cashback but as a new customer in 2012.
  • Hi guys

I currently have Entertainment Extra with a 20% off running out in a week's time.

I've been offered sports and movies half price for six months with no tie-in which I think works out at £42 a month.

I'd like the Sports / Movies in HD but not bothered about the other channels (Sky 1 HD etc which are part of EE+).

Is it possible to get the Sports (specifically) in HD without taking the EE+ package as I don't really want to be tied in for 12 months which I understand that package does.

    Cheers

Hi guys/girls im an out of contract customer at sky been out of contract since April of this year.today I phoned up sky for the first ever time as a friend of mine got the same package as me for half the price so I thought id give it a go. I have sky entertainment with sky sports sky broadband unlimited and sky phone I pay 65.50 per month. I basically tried getting a better deal to maybe get sky entertainment extra + thrown in and bt sports at the same price as im paying now and all they came up with was knocking like 2 pounds off my line rental ha. Does anyone know any good ways to maybe get a better deal they wouldn't even throw in hd.thanks in advance pm if needed as well.

Has anyone successfully had cashback for Sky?

I was going to go through Topcashback, but under the merchant notes it says -

I currently have their Sky+HD box, so would that exclude me?

Kind of contradicting itself as it's in the 'Existing customers' section

    http://www.topcashback.co.uk/sky-digital-upgrades/

I tried through Quidco, it was £70 or something at the time, they declined it. But they are also smart, they sent an email saying they will contact by phone to complete the order and of course if you do it via phone no cash back. All a big con if you ask me.

I'm due to go off tomorrow, apart from the reducing package call I have been made no offers so its going off I doubt.

This kind if thing really annoys me.
I have a couple of friends that have rung up sky/virgin threatening to cancel and come away with an upgraded package for less money than they were paying originally.

I recently rung up to cancel movies and sports (have had the full package for years!) and the guy on the phone just said 'sorry there's no kind if deals available, we dont do that kind of thing'. Which everyone knows is rubbish....

Really do not see why person A should be offered the same services as Person B because the guy on the end of the phone is having a good day!!

Sky/virgin should do offers for everyone or nobody. Simple

Yes Ad86, it is really annoying.
Maybe they have a daily quota of 'good deals', and once they're given out that's it for the rest... or maybe there's just some grumpy miser syndrome people who work for these companys who act like the money is coming out of their own wages
