Can anyone tell me what Sky broadband is like? Reliable?

I have to go ADSL, and am considering getting all 3 services from Sky. (Currently with Virgin for Broadband/phone), my contract ends beginning of next month, so am looking for a good deal.

I had sky adsl for a couple of years and now on their fibre. Never had a problem.
  • I didn't know Sky did an XL package.
    They don't, it's a Virgin name.

Thanks. I think I will see what BT can offer me too.

You're right, they don't. It's been a very long day! I'm sure they called it something similar when I signed up for it though.

They generally use the same backhaul anyway so the only difference is who sends you the bill.
  • Had my VM phone and tv removed and they were meant to come out on Tuesday to collect the boxes I have but text on Monday saying due to some sort of error they couldn't now collect them and I'd have to post them.

Pain in the !!!! as I've lost a days holiday as a result of it.

Anyone else have this problem with VM?
  • I emailed Virgin Media about a downgrade to my contract on my XL bundle package and obviously they told me to contact them via phone to sort something out.
I think! I actually found the most helpful Virgin Media adviser as she directed me on what I am actually paying for that I do not use.
Thanks to her I found out that not only can I save £31.85 a month but also this month it's only going to cost me around £60 as I have a saving on my record somewhere £28.67 so that will come out as well which is an even bigger bonus.
The best thing was she said call back any time when I need to downgrade again.. never met someone so helpful. :cheesy:

evanjonesaber -also be aware that you will be charged a cease fee by Sky as they will pass on the BT Openreach charge for disconnecting your b/band at the exchange -this is standard with (almost) all ISPs.
Does anyone know how much they charge?

I'm ADSL and currently with VM for BB/Phone, and would like to go over to Sky.
