I and many others have had many offers one after the other for years. I am on my third year of 50% off.

    This is good to know...

    I have given notice :(
  • I understand that the recording functions stop working on your Sky box if you cancel.

Does the bbc iplayer , ITV player, 4OD and Demand 5 stop working as well ?

Thats one to ask sky. I suspect it does as its (probably) an entitlement that comes with a TV package.

All on-demand will stop if you cancel everything. If you keep Sky+ subscription @ £10 per month then you can still use BBC iplayer but all the others need a Sky TV subscription.

Paying £12.75 talktalk bb and sky sports world £11.78 Would like to get all sky as 12 months free bb but £7.50 surcharge on bb if you cancel tv in year. tv up in dec and bb in aug. How do I get the two to marry up. When did bb sky wouldnt extend 11.78 till next aug. Is the only way to get them together is to take 4 month free trial in Jan on tv then go without over summer and getting both before new footie season next year.

I asked for a lower price on my total package and they offered this which is a part of their current offer package.
I don't have Broadband or Landline with Sky but I've asked for a quote to push back on BT!!

I had the exact same. They couldn't offer me much so I cancelled and then received my letter to confirm.

They should ring you in the cancellation period but if not ring them and see if there is something they can do. I rang 2 days before my Sky was due to be cut off and got half price for 12 months with no contract.

    It isn't a guarantee though.

well i scored an epic fail with Sky & completely wimped out on the negotiation, ashamed of myself i am! :o

customer for over 12 years, full tv (with HD, Multiroom, sports & movies)/phone/BB, paying £95 p/mth. non-cabled area so other options very limited (this is my major stumbling block as sky obviously know this).

waited about 15 mins before i got to speak to anyone in cancellations, obviously every man & his dog is trying to get a deal at the moment. said i wanted to cancel as it was costing too much. i quoted a £70 p/mth deal with BT at the moment, but the advisor quickly picked that option to pieces as it's no way comparable on the tv pack that we get with sky (which i already knew, but i had to try).

    ended up with -
12 months free line rental & 6 months free fibre broadband (with free installation/equipment). 12 month tie-in.

have been toying with upgrading to fibre for a while now as we're so far from the exchange, we're lucky if we get 1MB speed. can't use any of the on demand features as it takes about 6 hours to download a 1 hour programme! we should be getting around 40MB with fibre, even if it's only 20MB, it will be a dramatic improvement.

so, come the end of this new contract & we'll be paying more than we are now :lipsrseal, & i'll be calling again to use my magnificent bargaining skills! one day, i will actually go through with a cancellation request...:o

I phoned Sky yesterday to cancel as we are coming up to the 31 day notice period, We already had a 50% discount for 12 months so they could not offer me anything TV related however they went on to broadband and Sky talk

At the moment I pay EE £25 per month which gets me anytime calls and unlimited broadband which is quite a good deal. Sky offered me broadband for £17 + the line rental for £15 which = £32, I pointed out that I was already getting it cheaper and the guy said "Oh yes so you are"

So they took my notice to leave and thats it.
