The HD pack doesnt exist any more. Its now known as Entertainment Extra+.0

£32.75pm + £49 one off fee. Sounds like a bargain for the full sky world pack to me!
Thanks - that's exactly the deal I'm looking for!
Don't forget that new customers can get SKY World for 50% off plus a free HD box (not 2tb), so it will hopefully be achievable.
Just waiting for the call back from SKY following yesterday's conversation....0 -

M5hit has decided he wants a 2tb HD box and 50% off (or better) for SKY World!
If not he's happy to have a break from SKY having been on SKY World since 1994, without any discount (£8,500+).
M5hit has also recently discovered the joys of Netflix and is prepared to face a future without SKY. However he is also hoping that BT Sport's recent announcement will help persuade to SKY to make him an offer he can't refuse.0 -

Quick bit of advice if you don't mind?
Currently paying Virgin for:
Talk unlimited
TV L (135 channels)
Broadband XL (60mb)
Sky sports 1+2
(Regular Virgin tv box, not Tivo)
Total cost: £86.99
Just did a quick order on the Sky website:
Sky entertainment
Sports pack
Broadband unlimited
Talk anytime
(+free £100 M%S voucher)
Total cost £62 for 6 months, then £69.50 for 6 months
My contract ended 2 months ago - been putting off re-negotiating because it's such an !!!!. Between BT/Talktalk/Virgin/Sky, the packages and discounts are so confusing... and I'm normally good with this sort of thing. I don't really want to switch from Virgin if I don't have to.
So I wanted to ask - what specifically should I ask for (I don't want to downgrade anything there, although I was previously happy with the 30mb broadband until they upgraded it for 'free')
If I ask for a regular Tivo box, and ask for a further *12 month* contract (NOT 18), what price range should I be aiming for???0 -
Hahaha, sorry about the 'swearing'??!
Did anyone see the match last week? Arsenal vs Man U? Was almost a rehearsal for the next cup final.
(sorry again, couldn't help testing the filter)0 -
We are just out of contract with Sky, and I phoned them up today to cancel, and to see what they would offer me. We currently pay £67 a month, thats sports, HD and ESPN. Basically we only use it for the football.
Firstly they offered a discount to £63 for an additional 12 month contract. Then I said it was still far too expensive, so they said £57.25 was the lowest they could go. We will be getting rid of ESPN (£10) but would also get BT sports which works out £13.25 a month (£12 a month plus £15 activation fee), so our bills would only be going down by about £7, hardly worth it!
Is Sky still the only option if you want to watch every single Premiership game in HD? We recently signed a new contract for our broadband, looking back I probably should have waited to do that.
That was yesterday....
Just phoned them again today to cancel, now they have offered me £39.38 per month, not including ESPN, so £7 a month less than what they offered before. This would be a 6 month term, but it doesnt actually extend the contract which is good.
Im thinking this is probably as good a deal as I will get.... Although this does mean we are paying around £100 (2 1/2 months) for having Sky, when we probably wont watch anything at all over the summer, as all we use it for is football. So we could just cancel now, and look to join as a new customer in August, when the footy season starts again. When we originally signed up, we lived at another property, and transferred it over, and it was in my wifes name. I think that would mean that if I put it in my name then, we would be eligible for all the Quidco/Topcashback offers, which can be as much as £200 or so.
Any thoughts?0 -
The only other platform offering every Premier League game in HD is Virgin Media (except for the very rare occasion that a game is on Sky Sports 3 or 4, which AFAIK has only happened once and that was this season). However, that may not be true next year since, so far, BT have no deal with Virgin Media to carry BT Sport.
Eventually (hopefully soon), BT and some others like TalkTalk should have Sky Sports 1 & 2 in HD on their YouView platforms. This'll require fibre-optic broadband though.0 -
Just had a quick look at Virgins prices, and it seems like the Sky deal we have been offered is cheaper for what we need.
I think we are going to accept this offer, then see what happens after 6 months0
