Phoned up VM retentions. I'm on Phone M, Broadband M, and TV XL, paying 38.50, which will go up to £42 after the April increases. She wouldn't budge on the monthly price, but eventually negotiated to get the HD+ box with a connection fee of £30. I know some people have got this for free, so I obviously didn't haggle quite hard enough, but it is less than the £49 she'd insisted on at the beginning!

That bundle (based on the old product listing, BB-M 10mpbs, Phone M and TV XL) should only be £32.99 pm. Do you have any bolt-ons?

We cancelled our virgin media last monday and we have had no contact from anyone yet - starting to get a bit worried now waiting for a phone call to try and get a better offer than what we are currently on (costs about £80 a month for L Broadband, XL TV, Talk anytime and sky movies and sport). OH rang them last week to ask when our discontection date would be and asked them to put it in writing and we have still heard nothing. I am worried that will get to the end of the 30 days and have to go grovelling back.
    Why did you cancel anyway?

But why stay with a company who wouldn't offer that in the first place?

At VM, I called them recently to see how to reduce my costs and immediatley they came up with a package that upgraded what I had and still saved my ten per cent. I didn't even have to threaten to leave.

As I posted,. I had decided to leave and use an alternative service (FreeSat), until they offered to provide the box for free.

Not all of us have the option of VM...if the cable isn't in the ground, it's not really an option ;)

Virgin putting their prices up according a mail I got today. Various going up. I only got them two months ago so I'm not happy.
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

I phoned them - of course they don't give a damn, and I learnt nothing I didn't already know. It's in the contract that they can control the price. They say that they didn't know they were going to do this until February. And so on.

    Hi All,

I'm currently a sky HD, broadband, phone line customer.

I have all the channels except sky movies.

    Total monthly bill is £81.25.

I have been with sky for 1 year and looking for a retentions deal.

    What have similar people got?

I am quite keen on the 6months half price deal but not sure if that has been offered to a customer paying £70+?

    Some advice would be great!
    Thanks

You could try switching to VM, they offer far better deals.

Unlikely. If they say that your road is not commissioned, you could always say that they are planning to do it next month and they have been putting leaflets through your door.

    hi
we have been without sky for a year now but have been offered a deal with vmedia i rang yesterday since i am sick of bt bills (on a special deal ) £24 a month getting to be a joke never really use the phone. vm have offered me £30 credit off getting it installed so cost is £10 and 65 channels and phone for £20.24 for first 6 months and £23.49 for next 12 = 18 month contract. I think its a good deal since om will get at the races , we are getting a flat tv for sitting room and going to have it in they. can you let me know if i could have done better? thanks
