Planning to cancel my SKY TV Packages, due to bills reaching over the £80 mark. Should I go through cancellations or through the "Remove packages" department?

I have Sky Fibre Broadband with them, so I'm still in broadband contract for another 3 months, but TV can go, just hoping they'll give me some offers! :)

Spent nearly one hour with Scottish lad in cancellations section Sat am and fella wouldn't budge in terms of incentives / further discount to retain me as customer, I currently pay £55 p/m includes multi room, only offer made was £41.50 for four months or £45 for six months....take it or leave it.

May well have to check Virgin Media and TalkTalk offers but really want to keep Sky Sports. I guess some callers get lucky in terms of discounts and others don't!

Still feel slightly peeved at lack of any effort to retain me since been with Sky since they started in the nineties!!
  • I've got the full package with Sky - full tv package, multi room, broadband and phone line and have been with Sky since 1999. Works out nearly £100 per month. Rang yesterday stating that I'd been offered half price BB and line rental from Plus Net (which I had) and wanted to move bb/phone to save money. Got through to cancellations who then gave me free line rental for a year saving £174. Then asked about cancelling Sky Sports as footy finishes in May. Instead of cancelling they offered Sky Sports at half price until September which I took saving another £5 per month. The girl at cancellations went on about me being with them for 14 years and didn't want to lose my custom just over cost. So if you have been with Sky for a number of years give them a call as you could save some cash

Plus last time I checked you can't Record Sports with Talk Talk
  • Was paying £43/mth for VM TiVo, L tv and 30mb BB. No phone line. Canceled on Friday and signed up to 50% off sky for 12 months, entertainment plus, unlimited bb and weekend phone for £34.
Virgin rang me today and offered current virgin package for £33 for next 12 months, so I called sky back to cancel - and now they've gave me £50 credit to proceed with my order so first month and half is free.
Rung virgin back to cancel this eve. Lets see if virgin call me tomorrow with better offer.
