Thanks, looks ok not many kids channels only cbeebies and the std ones from freeview. I would miss sky Atlantic and Fox. Will keep it in mind tho0 -
Just another experience to add to the list.
I have been a Sky customer since 1997, full TV package inc HD, presently pay £64.75 a month.
My Brother has repeatedly had success over the last few years getting deals - either 50% off for 6 months or 25% off for a year by ringing and threatening to cancel.
Credit card bills a little scary at the mo so thought this would be an easy win. Followed advice and rang yesterday saying there was a better deal on offer with Virgin (there was). Scottish lady took all sorts of details about this deal and asked me about my viewing habits. I didn't ask for a deal, just said I need to cancel. After 15 mins or so I was put on hold - hello I thought, here comes my offer - but after 5 minutes she just thanked me for me patience, told me it had all gone through and that I had better watch everything on the planner by April 25th as this is cut-off day.
Slightly surprised I didn't get offered any deal at all, perhaps tactics have changed in Sky HQ as it is now so widely known the price may be 'flexible'.
Obviously now I may or may not get a phone call etc etc0 -

Sky have obviously changed tact and are hoping they are doing the bluff calling now.
Sky are obviously aware now that more and more people are aware of Sky's previous record for easy give away discounts.
What Sky are hoping now is that they have a hold over many people (which they do seem to have over some) and that many people are actually scared to lose Sky.
But with more alternatives than ever to Sky this is quite a risky strategy during tough economic times.0 -

I'm sure they will. But I think there is definitely a harder edge to sky's discounting at the moment as I'm sure others on here will testify to.0 -
Probably depends on if you live in an area with cable and/or FTTC.0

. I had been a Sky subscriber since 1990, always with a full subscription including movies, sports etc. I didn't cancel expecting an offer to stay, just surprised that an offer wasn't made.0
