When calling them you can mention Sky's offer and ask if they'll match or surpass it.
    (and vice versa)
  • Vrigin said they cant come close to it!

Around 13 months ago I haggles with BT. I wanted evening & weekend calls plus 10GB Broadband at a cheaper deal than I was already paying.

I got offered the broadband for around a tenner a month and paid the line rental upfront, including the eve & weekend calls - this was just over a £100 at the time.

On renewal this year, I phoned BT and was ready to haggle again, but they just renewed the old deal, although the line rental is now up to £129. I was quite happy with it.

For the same price I got E&W calls with 40Gb broadband.

Sky cancelled 12/2 but no call received leading up to 12/2 despite completing a questionnaire. Still got Sky phone & broadband. Cant say we are missing anything much as base channels still available although without skyplus.
Will we get a come back offer? If I returned it would only be a deal to include Sports asa the other channels & sky plus are not worth £26pm. You dont realise how little you get for that payment until it is cancelled.

The problem is that you have to have at least the basic Sky tv package to gets sports which is around £21.50 plus the sports subscription on top. Pretty annoying really.
  • I cancelled my sky last week, (basic package with kids & entertainment )£27.50.
They tried the usual, and offered to knock it down to £23.50
I didnt think this was a great deal ? so we went ahead with the cancellation.
Yesterday we had a call trying to sign us up again, We managed to get the package we already had, along with sports, movies & multiroom for £30 a month (12 month contract)
I think this is excellent, just shows what they can do :)

  • We cancelled our sky package at the end of January and I've just called to chase up my MAC code (moving to plusnet fibre for bb) and have been told that they had the reason for my leaving them down as moving abroad, this seemed very odd as when I put the cancellation through I had quite a long conversation about it the cost being the issue but they seemed unable/unwilling to offer anything. We haven't had any contact from Sky since the cancellation and I suspect that this may be why we why we hadn't received any offers to stay.
  • I was already on Sky broadband/phone and got a call from them today - signed up for basic TV package for £8.25 a month with free install/HD box.

Ideally I want Sky Sports but they said it would be another £20, which I don't want to pay.

Anybody know the best time to get a deal for sports - is it when the football season is over?
