Who pays the least for all there services and which provider are you on??
I've been offered,
60mb broadband
tv xl
phone xl
sky sports
hd package
tivo box and hd box for £78 a month, (virgin media)
I'm holding out as i want 3 boxes!!!
I'm not fussed about movies myself but curious as to what everyone pays for similar services???
Anyone got better and cheaper?0 -
If you really cant afford it then consider removing parts of your package and/or phone them up and cancel and see what they say.0

Hi everyone, I hope you can advise.
I'm a long term SKY subscriber, joined in 2006, have the full package - all channels including HD, Sports and Movies, Broadband and Sky Talk also Multiroom with 1 additional box. I Pay approx £90 a month.
I want a better deal as I really can't afford what I am paying at the moment. Negotiated a six month half price deal with Sky some years back but havn't done anything since that expired.
Have been thinking about changing provider to get a better deal.
BT (who supplies my landline) are offering me 12 months free broadband and unlimited evening and weekend calls to UK landlines.
I am unable to get Virgin Media as there is no cable in my area.
Does anyone have any advice? I'm not too sure on changing broadband and call supplier as I believe that keeping it all with the one provider gives me better terms to negotiate but 12 months free broadband and free calls seems a fair deal.
Is there any particular reason you want to leave Sky... (apart from the price obviously)?
With a little effort, I would predict you could get your TV package down to about £30 a month, maybe a little more, and your phone and internet down to <£10 a month.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

Hi all,
New member to this forum and apologise if what I'm about to ask has been covered elsewhere.
We currently have a Sky account in my partner's name for the last 14 odd years and paid premium subs for everything in that time, never rang to negotiate a deal ... which is our bad, I now realise!
As it's becoming far too expensive to justify I've found out that new Sky subscribers get a huge discount ... so much for loyalty! As my surname is different to my partner's would I be classified as a new subscriber if we gave notice to cancel under her name? It would be for the same address.
Also, why do all the better deals with Sky and Virgin include you taking a landline? We decided to live with just our mobiles but if we try to cancel the landline then the packages covering TV and broadband all appear to be more expensive than if we included the landline. Has anyone been able to negotiate a deal without a landline? If yes, who with?
FYI, we currently have everything with Sky: TV (Sports, Movies, the lot!), broadband and landline. We also have three mobile contracts about to finish and have been told that we get a £5 discount per mobile from Virgin mobile if we have Virgin Media - I cannot find this detailed anywhere: as it will make another £15 difference to our monthly outgoings, can anyone confirm if this is correct?
Thanks in advance for any replies.0 -
Hi, I was paying £36 a month for a sky and hd package. Phoned today to cancel and they offered me the entertainment only package for £5 a month for 3 months with no contract. They told me to phone back at the end of 3 months for another offer. Does this sound like a good deal? Thanks0

If you were expecting something else then maybe not such a good deal?0 -
I have everything with sky apart from movies and kids channels and rang to cancel last week and they only offered me £6 off a month.0

Hello,
Haven't read all the comments so this may have been mentioned previously.
If you phone Sky and ask to pay your line rental for a year in advance you save £54.60 ( £119.40 instead of £174.00). Obviously you have to intend staying with them as I'm not sure if you get a rebate if you leave.
I also said I wanted to cancel ESPN and Movies which would save me £18.00 per month. Told me I could receive these channels for £1.50 per month for 6 months with no strings attached. I can phone them after 6 months and negotiate another deal or cancel if I want.
I have been with sky for 7 years now so don't know if that helps in any dealings with them.0 -
Why are these discounts only available to new customers ?
What about those of us - who have paid several thousand pounds over the years ?0
