Why are these discounts only available to new customers ?
What about those of us - who have paid several thousand pounds over the years ?
Because they want to attract new subscribers, not lose revenue from existing ones as the majority will never call up to ask for a discount, threaten to cancel, etc.
  • Disappointing 12% discount offered by SKY on tv package. So going to cancel.

Disappointing 12% discount offered by SKY on tv package. So going to cancel.

Just phoned Sky myself and got offered, er, nothing. I did get offered the chance to cancel aspects of my current subscription to reduce my costs but no discount at all.
I am leaving so thanks Sky TV for the fish!!
  • It will be interesting to see what effect Sky's harder line with regards to discounts has on their subscriber numbers over the coming year.

I wonder how many people will have the balls to actually cancel.

We've been without Sky for over a month now and must admit we're not missing it as much as we thought.

Still in this time I have not received any contact from Sky, so the ball is in their court because I'm not going begging to them.
  • Hi,
can I just confirm, with this new deal I can get Sky Sports
for about £21 for a year?

phoned to cancel Sky last 31 days of Contract for HD box spend quite a bit of time talking to a nice lady

was offered 2 deals no HD, sky entertainment + movie pack for £29 per month for 6 months but had to sign up for a 12month Contract

or no Hd, sky entertainment, sky sports pack & movie pack for £37.88 per month for 6 months no Contract

She also said she was only allowed to do 1 deal at a time so if i wanted a deal on HD ring back a week or so later as the offers for your account appear on the screen which can be offered but only 1 offer per phone call also offers are now tailored towards how long your been with sky & the best offers are achieved by upgrading/downgrading Premium Channels,HD etc

If you want the entertainment package for £5 a month for 3 months then its a good deal.

If you were expecting something else then maybe not such a good deal?

Good point well made! Well I was going to cancel anyway so 3 cheap months gives me a bit of breathing space to decide. Will see what they offer in 3 months time. Thanks.

    Hi all newbie here,

I got a discound a year ago last August but have only just got round to trying again with Sky.
I pay £53 per month now for TV,Broadband and Phone, like what we get and dont want to change but after two phone calls to sky today, they will only offer me a 12 months £5pm discount.
After two long calls where they argued the toss and slagged off virgin I was told sky dont give discounts anymore and that I was lucky to get a fiver off a month and if I dont like it then go to virgin!!!.
Really really disapointed with them today,
I really wanted 1 20percent discount for 12 moths, is that asking too much??.
    Tell me am I wrong??.
Advice, tips and polite criticism taken lol.
