Hi
I gave my cancellation notice in and am due to be cut off on 31st January. I have just called and spoke to a guy who told me to let it cancel and come back as a new customer.
He also spoke to cancellations who apparently said I should call back on 1st feb to be re-instated and will be offered new deals.
I have full tv package, bb lite and phone. The First Lady I spoke to who I cancelled with said there would be a charge for reconnecting.
Can anyone confirm if either of these things are true?
Thanks

I think its clear from mine and others experiences that there is no guarantee they will call. A friend of a friend works at one of the sky kiosks you see in shopping centres, was convinced I would get a call within days of cancelling. 29 days later I was still waiting, so had to call myself.
That's how I got my result. Be prepared to make a call on day 29 if your phone hasn't rang. You might not get the discount you want, but like me, you might not want to get cut off in the first place.Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk

Been with Sky for 14 years and phoned to cancel Sky Sports and mentioned cancelling Sky totally.
She ignored the cancelling Sky totally and took off my sports and told me that would save me some money.
Having originally called the other day, a chap told me to call back and see what offers they could provide.....but she offered none.
Oh well, I just got a bad agent or I wasn't assertive enough.0 -
Hi All,
I called up sky today and went down from 55.00 to 41.00 (for 9 months - with no contract)
I have Sky Entertainment Extra, Sky+ HD Box (declined HD option though), Unlimited Broadband, Line Rental and Anytime Calls.
It took a little bit to get that, probably get better if I shop around a little more.
Interested to learn what people are getting for the same package I have.

This ^^^
Its been said a thousand times on this thread... for 50% off or greater, terms like "thinking of" "just wanted to see what offers you could do for me" and "don't want to lose my TV" are not going to get results.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

Yep, from experience you need to actually cancel to secure the best deals.

Hello,
I am currently on Sky TV - standard sky plus box for £22 a month.
Also have Virgin TV, phone and internet - don't use the TV - its an old NTL box- but it is the M package, the internet is 20mb and line rental has free weekend and evenings calls - £35 a month
total £57 a year.
Plan is to cancel sky and get everything with virgin.
Called virgin and they can upgrade us to the TV L package with TiVo, and same broadband and same phone for £45.50 a month (when paying line rental for 12 months up front).
Also said there would be a £49.50 charge for the installation of TiVo (can it be self installed for free?) and a superhub box. So it will end up being around £50 a month.
What do you think of this deal guys?0 -
Have I got this right please?
If I take the Sky Entertainment + package plus HD at the moment it will cost me £36 ish a month. However currently they are offering £100 M and S voucher and through TCP another £126 cash back on Sky+HD. Free HD box and installation.
So that would work out after cash back and voucher about £4 a week - is that right?
If so, it seems a decent deal - should I try to get half price rental for 6 months out of them too and are they likely to give it.
Also will the TCB cash back offer be valid if I do get the voucher and half price rental please anyone?0
