yes and then wait a few days and cancel again, no real way of being sure if you will get a call even if you go through with the cancelation. You can even ring back today and see if they will give you a better deal, originally offered 10% off for 6 months, told them to cancel, about 15 days in called again and was offered multiroom for 2.50 a month for 9 months plus free box and install and 25% off the rest of the package for 6 months, dont really want the multiroom so said put the notes on the file and will think about it. will be calling again just before the deadline date if they dont call me0 -
Well, probably as cashback is no guarantee. Always look at cashback from Quidco/ TCB as a bonus.
Why tell him what you were planning on doing? He probably thinks your taking the p*ss. Its hardly fraud but it is from their perspective a little unscrupulous. Likely put a note on your account.
When you say it's a bonus, would you say it's worth trying or not?
Debating whether it's worth the hassle of a later install date if I don't 100% get the cashback.0 -

Later install date. Why is that.
I am about to go through quidco for virgin and that statement has got me worried.0 -

On all cashback sites it says that there is no GUARANTEE of cashback. But all sites are reviewed and the tracking time and success % is clear to see so you can make your own assumptions on whether it is worthwhile. You cancelled before your contract had officially started but they may still have all your details on record seeing as it was only a few days ago. This in itself may not count as 'A new account' which I assume is a stipulation for that large amount of cashback.
Thats what makes it a bit of a gamble in your situation I would say. How impatient are you? £80 gamble for say 2 weeks later installation date? sounds worth it to me. This is all about money saving after allWell, you can tell by the way I use my walk

Is there a grain of truth that sky will "throw the order out" as i'm "no longer classed as a new customer"?
@mirrorcarp - Just because appointment slots fill up, its moved the 11th from 8th already.0 -

30mg Broadband
XL phone
XL TV
V+ Box
Multiroom with addition HD box for 65.64 an increase of 3.74
They've now offered me the same package for 55 quid so I've decided to take their offer!
There's still deals to be has via retentions don't be put off

Found the answer.
My girlfriend gave our notice today via the customer retentions number. She was told I could call back to discuss our options and having done so all they could do was to offer to charge MORE for upgraded broadband (which we dont need) and upgraded TV to the Large package (we have the medium package plus movies, sports and HD) . We will therefore wait for the call but not entirely confident seeing as we were speaking to retentions in the first place.0 -
Just phoned VM after being with them for 2 and a half years. I managed to get a discount 14 months ago to my current deal which is - V+ box
- XL tv - with Sky Sports
- M phoneline
- 20mb Broadband.
With the price increases I will be paying £79.75 for that, up from £71 when I first negotiated the deal
Anyway, they offered me -
-Tivo box
- Same tv
- same phone
- 30mb bb (up from 20mb)
- current V+ box in another room.
I was expecting them to at least offer me that and not increase the price but want to charge me £85 per month instead. Then proceeded to slag Sky off. Anyway, I've given them my notice as I was expecting better!0 -
Can I ask a question which might be a bit dim but want to make sure before I cancel Sky (£105 a month) Can get Tesco BB on a good deal, need BB for work-could I cancel whole sky package, get Tesco BB & Line rental and get a TV deal later? Does it matter who your BB is with whether u can get a TV deal with BT for instance? tia0
