HOow quick after cancelling did they call you with 50% offer?

Your notice period is a month... I was three weeks into my notice period this time before they rang me. Last year I was 2 days away from being cut off....

Its a how long is a piece of string question... they might not even ring at all, but I guarantee that if they don't ring, you'll not be cut off for more than 2 months before you get a letter through offering 50% off.

If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.

... they can't make an offer if you don't answer. They may give up easily, so answer and find out the offer!

Your recordings are locked so that you cannot play them. You can continue watching most free to air channels (like Freeview).

You can watch all the content available under 'freesat from SKY' plus the free to air HD channels - BBC HD, BBC One HD, etc.

Sky+ is disabled although you can pay them £10(ish) a month to get this functionality back.

The benefits of a Freesat HD box being the record feature and more channels then? I'm calling Sky on Feb 22 to put my notice in. My mate & brother have both kindly offered to let me have my notebook as a device on their SkyGo so I can watch football. I doubt Sky can do anything to keep me but we'll see.
  • This became the stumbling block for me. Buying a Freesat HD box which records will cost at least £140 (for a lesser brand like Bush - much more for a better one). I've got a perfectly good Sky one under the telly so paying a tenner a month sounds a waste of money but I'm not sure it is. If you buy a freesat box you'll be less inclined to return to Sky because of your outlay. Personally, I think that's only an option if you really have no intention of going back to Sky.
