  • I'm thinking of phoning Sky tonight to cancel my TV package.
Does anyone know if the following deal is still available for returning customers?:
75% off Sky TV, Movies & Sports for 12 months when you take the HD pack.

If this is the case I will cancel and then leave it a few weeks and give them a ring to re-join.

Nope, you can only use the 75% off if you have been sent the leaflet - its marked on your account. I'm sure you have to be a non sky customer for much longer than 2 weeks.

I got various 50% off and 6 months free offers before I got the 75% off 3 months after I left
  • we got our 75% offer after a couple of months. The funny thing is that once you give up sky you realise you didnt really need it anyway. I think the current offer of 75% ends this week or next so i doubt you will get in on the current offer if you cancel now but there will be others.

I don't think I would miss it either. The only thing I would miss is the Sky+ so you can record. As far as I know you need the base package in order for this to work.

No, you can pay £10 per month to Sky for recording capabilities if you have a Freesat From Sky card (or expired subscription card).

It's probably more economical to just get a Freesat+ HD box though if you want to record free channels.

Phoned and said I was leaving...amazing how Sky sprung into action and sorted it all out:

New Sky + HD box to replace our broken one, going to be installed on Saturday.

Free Broadband for the next 6 months.

£ 5.00 rebate for my trouble.

Reduced my TV, Phone and BB bill from £ 97 per month to £ 49.50 :T
  • Another 50% off for 12 months offer received in the post yesterday, only 2 weeks after the last one. Only valid until 27th Sep but it may as well be forever for all I care, I want a better deal Sky or you wont get my custom!
  • Well I saw so many people had got better deals so I called Sky and told them I wanted to lower my package. I'm £75 a month for 2 HD boxes with movies and sports. They told me that just cancelling the sports channels would save me £12 a month (I only keep them on the offchance my son is visiting and don't watch them myself). So I said ok, cancel the sports, I'll take the £12 saving. But they didn't seem to want me to cancel the channels and said they'd give me the discount for six months 'to think about it' and I can keep the channels meantime anyway. So I've made a note in my diary - 6 months and I'll be back on the phone to them and see what they say then...either way, I'm not going back to paying £75 a month.
  • Rang Sky after reading forum and went though to disconnections. Told them Virgin was offering a better deal and we were going to leave (in fact Virgin don't even operate in our area!) They offered free HD for 6 months, a HD box for £49 plus £15 delivery and free line rental on our phone for a year! (Our package is in total Sky HD+ x2, phone, unlimited broadband and unlimited talk.) I was happy with the result saving us about £20 per month.
Also recently came out of contract. Still had an old grey sky box as our multiroom box which I had tried and failed to get them to replace for free/cheaply. Best they said they would do was I had to buy a new box outright for £199! So as soon as contract up cancelled multiroom and the next day "joined" multiroom getting the deal of a 1TB HD Sky+ box for £49! I don't actually think the multiroom was ever disconnected!
  • Hi
Is the MSE Sky deal still active? if so what is the deal? I tried doing a search but couldnt find an active sky deal.
