Rang and said was considering Virgin Tivo (although when I checked it was more than Sky for the package I have) and managed to get the bill reduced by £15 a month for the next year:j0

As you have still got the minimum term of your contract to go then I doubt you will be able to haggle at all as you are tied in to paying £42 for 12 months anyway.
What speeds are you getting on your broadband and how far away from the exchange are you? Given that it all comes over the same wires the speed will be the same regardless of provider.
I was afraid people would say that about being in middle of contract
I'm 500m away from exchange, gettin 7MB connection. I have friends who are much closer to the exchange and they are getting 20MB+ with their Sky connection (same package).
I reckon I will chance my arm and see if I can get anything out of Sky with upgrade, as I assume I will have to sign up to a new 12month contract with the addition of packages, I'm hoping that'll help.0 -
Hi, existing package with SKY is as follows:
Entertainment Extra £26.50
Broadband Connect £7.50(goes to £17 on 21 Oct)
Talk unlimited £5.00
Line rental £14.50
Minimum 12 month term up on 21 October 2012, when I can I call to negotiate or leave? 30 days before?:(
My broadband connect is very poor so thinking of going back to talk talk who have LLU at our exchange.
Any thoughts?0 -
September 21 was the start of your 30 day notice period.0

Yes as they are separate packages and may have staggered end dates.
They will confirm when the end date for your components is on the phone though.0 -

Ok, just off phone with Sky. said I was looking to upgrade, had went to do it online, but thought the prices given to me where a bit expensive. the guy then had a look at my account and offered me sports package half price for 6months and the HD pack half price for 12months. Tried to get ESPN incl in that, but he wouldn't budge any further.
Happy enough with that, of course, I am now tied to a new 12month contract, oh well. Sky sports package is only a 6month contract though.0 -
I spoke to Sky a couple of days ago and advised them that I was looking to move to Virgin Media as I was interested in HD and they were offering a deal. After a short conversation Sky provided a free HD box, (£15 delivery), free Anytime+ and HD package for 12months at £5 per month instead of £10. Inspired I then called Virgin Media and advised that I was going to cancel by BB as I wanted to move the cable line to a different room in the house and it was cheaper to cancel and take up Sky BB than pay the £100 engineer fee to move it. Within 5 mins they had waived the fee for the move, sent me a new super hub and upgraded my connection to 30mb all for free. It is well worth the time and effort to make the phone calls.0

Cancelled in August, last day was 9th September. Phone call from Sky today, 75% discount with £50 credit. Son instead of £76 a month for the works with multiroom I will be paying less than £35.
A saving over the year of nearly £530, kerching!0 -
I recently got 25 percent off just for calling for six months with no tie in.0
