We left on October and get offers through the post every few months - the latest was 75% off and £50 credit (have moved to Virgin so not looking for a deal).

have had problems recently with sky including my post a few weeks a go. since then my broadband has gone on and off, had 2 operators say they'll call back but never did, cancel my direct debit for no reason at all. went to genuinely cancel again but got offered 25% off my bill for next 12 months, on top of my free line rental which i got last time. had to haggle a bit though, as from now i pay 20£ less a month.0

Rang Sky on Sat to see if I could get cost down any. Am currently paying £71.25 purely for tv services. Was offered 25% off straight away but I said I wanted a bit more. Was then offered multiroom at £2.25 instead of £10.25, so said if I coud have both deals I would take it! He went off for advice but said no he couldn't do that but would give me the extra sky+hd box for free with the 25% off bills but I would need to pay the £60 install fee. I politely said not a chance- and also added that getting the box free is standard atm for existing customers (was checking online at the same time.) Anyway, asked for my account to be cancelled as they couldn't give me a better deal. Squeaky bum time now as there is NO WAY I will be able to actually get cancelled (other half is a football obsessive and if he can't watch at home then he will just go to the pub which would be far more expensive!!!) We are also moving home a week before the account is due to close so need to schedule a home move in which I can't do while the account is in closing status. Come on Sky ring me with an offer!!!0

My feedback
Been with Sky for years. Got TV (basic), line rental, BB, talk.
Rang last night to cancel, got offered.
Line rental from £12.25 -> £1 (for 12 months)
TV package, from £11 -> £5.50 (for 12 months).
So saving £201 over the year or £16.25 a month.
Happy with that and accepted.
Have to say you really have to push and deal with the "awkward" silences. They seem to want to battle you down and use tactics like "are you not enjoying your BB/TV?"
The best way in is to ask for a MAC code if you are BB customer. You immediatly get through to cancellations.
Just say its all about money and you are the bill payer and the household will put up with the cancellation ie ("dont the kids watch the Disney channel" rubbish, ie a guilt trip!).
Be ready to hang up with no deal and you usually get one.

Quick note to JWhite, i'm with O2 for unlimited broadband and unlimited home phone and get the package for £23.50 per month. This has just gone up as i looked to cancel with them last year and they gave me my home phone line free for a year.
Just spent the last couple of hours looking for the best deals, both BT and Virgin were practically double what i'm paying now per month at £23.
Have found at peak times that the broadband does slow down a bit, but for the price i'm happy with that.
Hope that helps!!0 -
I got my husband to cancel and the Sky goes off on 4 April. We have been with them for years but they adamantly refused to give anty offers to stay. My son and hubbie are desperate to ring Sky to cancell the cancellation but I think we should wait.
Do you think that Sky will contact us...or do I have falsr hope?:(

Guys - don't worry! Anyone that has cancelled their Sky and is now panicking, fear not. I am in exactly the same boat and a a couple of days after giving my 31 days notice, receieved a letter from them saying I could call at any time after the service has been switched off to get the same packages back without needing a new contract.
So, for all those cancelling to try and get a good deal, as a worst case scenario, you'll be without Sky for as long as you want to hold out for. When you can't live without it any longer, just phone up and you'll get switched back on. All you'll miss are some programmes and you'll have saved a few quid for the time it is off!
Personally, I'm going to give Freesat a go and see how I get on with that. If I find I can't live without the odd game of football, the odd rubbish film, then I might go back. Alternatively, a NetFlix or LoveFilm account may well be enough to bolster the Freesat stuff and that's only around siz quid a month!
Cheers.

And therein lies the ultimate risk for Sky.
If Sky customers cancel and go through with it, Sky can then lose them permanently to Virgin Media - so no more income at all for Sky from that property.
That’s why Sky needs to lure those who leave (or are about to) back into its fold as quickly as possible.
For Sky TV, any income from a home is better than no income whatsoever from a home.Still no call from Sky...oh dear.

Hi guys,
I wanted to report a problem with the recent Sky deal which was posted on Wednesday 28th March 12.
The deal was offering £100 M&S vouchers and also the £125+ cash back from Topcashaback.
Well the dilemma is that i placed an order online via TCB on Thursday eve and was given a ref number from Sky after completion of the entire application order. However the next day i got a phone call from SKY claiming that there were issues with their computer system last night and as a result i would need to reorder sky again over the telephone which i declined as if i did that i would loose out on the above deal.
The guy from Sky gave me no choice but to cancel and i was wondering if anyone else has complained about this or if you have been made aware of this already.
Can you advise me further
Thank you0 -
Have just come to the end of my first ever 12 months with Sky.
Read the thread with great interest. Phoned Sky as I was under the impression you'd take out a new 12 month contract with them - however the guy had no idea about that and said I was talking rubbish (in as many words...!)
Anyway, I advised I'd like to cancel due to others getting offers and me not getting any (childish, I know!). He countered it with a fantastic offer (hrm hrm...) saying the only offer available to me was Man Utd TV half price for three months - on top of my normal subscription. Told him I'd like to cancel - he put me on hold and came back saying he had spoken to cancellations and they had no further offers, so would only take the call if I definitely wanted to cancel. I proceeded to tell him I did.
I then spoke to a woman who was rude at times but quite helpful in the end. To cut a long story short, my package has now changed!
Initial 12 month contract:
All Sky Channels (including sports and movies)
HD Pack
Unlimited Broadband
Free evening and weekend calls
Total Price: £82 per month
New Package:
All Sky Channels (including sports and movies)
HD Pack
Unlimited Broadband
Free evening and weekend calls
Total price: £64.25 per month for 9 months
The offer was my line rental and broadband for £2 per month with the same price for my tv and hd pack.
