Weird though, I still have the box but can't get all the free channels on it, I can get some but not as many as I should get with Freeview so I need to fiddle around with the tv as I should get more channels on there.
...Virgin will want their box back - its rented ,not owned like a Sky box - you should get a communique shortly!!0 -

Yeah I know, they said that they would send me a label, but they are welcome to come and collect it, I have nothing to post it in - last time though, on moving, they didn't bother. In reality though surely they will just end up binning it as it's the old box, not even an HD box..0 -
probably not much of a deal to most but I'm happy with my phone call this morning.
Currently have 10mb broadband service @ £19pm - rang to cancel (& move to Infinity) and the guy offered me the 60mb service with superhub and free install for £25pm (including price upgrade next month). Getting it installed this thursdayThe Daily Mail

Just off the phone to VM, I'm currently out of contract,
Current package:
1 V+HD Box
BB Large
TV Large
Phone Medium.
Costs us £44.90 which will increase by £3.50 1st April.
Got offered £4.00 off the bill, so saving 50p/mth from April.
Anybody else get a better deal on this package.
Thanks0 -
I'm cancelling my HD with sky next month. Can't believers been 12 months already as I got the free HD box and £100 M&S vouchers.
Most of the good cannels are in HD aren't they?!0 -
Could somebody on Virgin who has had a Tivo box after going through the customer retentions process please tell me if they had to pay any kind of activation/connection fee, or if that was free of charge?
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi,
I've been on a Sky 50%/Staff Discount offer for a year. It came to an end a couple of months ago and the last 2 bills have been for a whopping ~ £80.
I rang today and simply said 'cannot afford to pay this price anymore. The wife has found a good deal at Virgin Media - what can you do as I don't want move if I don't have to'.
They said I can keep the same package and they will reduce the price to £57ish for 12 months and I'm not tied into a contract.
I get the following for that price:
All Channels inc. (Sports HD) except Sky Movies via my current Sky+ HD Box.
'Unlimited' Broadband. My speed is 4Mbps (tested)which is fine for us.
Sky Talk, Unlimited - call any landline, anytime + the free international calls to US, NZ etc.
Line Rental
Is that decent value?:beer:0 -
Beware! Ordered Sky online through Topcashback to qualify for £100+ and to get £100M&S voucher on a Sunday evening. Told son and he said we could both get £75 if he recommended me so I phoned Sky on Monday am to cancel in order to re-order(!) less than24hrs after placing order. Told by Sky person "no problem, just wait 24 hrs before reordering for system to update". Tried to reorder on Tuesday evening only to find that if you are being recommended by friend you can't go through Topcashback! On top of that even though nothing had been activated or paid for, I was still on their database as a previous customer and my order was not accepted! Spoke to three staff, all not far from useless, pointed out that there is nothing in their T&Cs that says I would be considered a previous customer. Had to settle with ordering over the phone but am not at all happy with service.:mad:0

I'm having trouble getting pages to load on the virgin media website. I click on "create your own bundle" and i get a screen saying i've clicked a broken link.
Anyone had the same happen to them.0 -
Every year I phone Sky and cancel my contract. They usually offer me 25% off but I persist with my intention to cancel. A day or two before the cancellation date they phone me and offer a better deal, generally 50% off for six months. I say, "make it 50% for a year and I'll stay" and they agree. Using this method I have had Sky half price for the last three years. I have a freeview plus box standing by in case they call my bluff!0
