  • Morning all!

Been thinking about speaking to Virgin for some time now and last night found the time to do so. This is what I have been offered,
    XL tv with sports
    Med B.B
    Small Talk
    V+ box
    normal box
    £66.

Would like to know what you guys think about this package as I've 7 days to make my mind up. Anyone able to better it?

    Thanks

Is that £66 for the first 3 months as they seem to offer a discount for a short while, then it goes up to a larger payment.
  • Welllll.....

I came home today expecting to see full sky sports but have only sky sports 1!!

I called retensions and she told me that no way could i get the above package for £66, it would cost somewhere closer to £77.

I explained that the advisor I spoke to last night said £66 and I wanted to speak to a manager.

They have listened to the call and i was CORRECT in saying £66 all in but the best they can now do is £69

What do I do now? They have it on tape I would get it for £66

    Please Help!
  • I tried my first haggle today and am well pleeased!!

I had a thing from BT and worked out that I could save £267 a year if I switched broadband and TV to them.

So I phoned sky to leave and told them about my saving and now I have got
    1 year free line rental;
    unlimited calls;
    broadband
    sky tv
all for £33 a month which is what I was paying just for broadband and TV.
This is saving me £349 a year!
    Great advice!!

    Hi all,

What's the Sky cancellations number please? I'm sure someone mentioned there's a 3 digit number rather than the 0844 number if you ring from your Sky landline.

My package isnt quite same. I did have
    TV - L
    Phone L
    bb L
    caller display
    talk 08
1/2 price line rental for 12 months ending July 12.
    £37.99

*I phoned them to get tivo & keep original box to be moved upstairs my contract was not due to end until July
First phone call they said £47.49 per month to keep existing package and add tivo & keep original box and £49.95 installation fee, which I turned down. I called again, looked at downgrading phone & TV and was told £45.40, and they would give me half price installation. Then I called again and was offered £39.40 and phoned again and was offered £33.49
after some negotiation from 20 Feb I should have
    TV M+
    BB - Large
    Phone M
new tivo box(with free activation & 1/2 price installation £25)
new V+ box installed in bedroom
    Talk 08
    caller display

    £31.49 until 1 April
    £33.49 from 1 April
£41.65 from July when 1/2 price line rental runs out

I then complained via their website on webform because I was told 1/2 price line rental would be extended to 12 mths, when contract arrived it still says expires July 12, and as result of repeatedly complaining they have waived the £25 installation fee, but point blank refused to extend 1/2 price line rental to 12 mths.

Depends what package you're after. Have you tried online? They have the chat advisor facility - they're not the best though. However, if you want information, they will help. Cheapest package for TV, Broadband and Phone including line rental is about £40.
  • Sky didn't want to know and wouldn't offer anything.
Gave them my cancellation on the 24th of January and not heard a word from them.

Called this morning to confirm the cancellation date, still not interested and simply confirmed Sky goes off on the 24th February.

Looks like some (non) quality time with Virgin for a year or so.
