  • Just rang Sky to cancel saying I wanted to save money for 3-4 months and they offered 50% off everthing for 6 months with no strings.

I have all packages+HD+ESPN+Multi room so a decent saving for a 10 minute call.

  • Just got off the phone... 25% discount for twelve months. It took two phone calls, the first (Asian Call Centre) was unhelpful.
  • Been reading these posts with interest and decided to try and get discount, and suprise suprise got a reduction of 25% on monthly payments for a year without any haggling, just said Virgin were in area and trying to sign me up.
  • I rang Sky last night and told them I was considering other suppliers. Within 3 minutes my Sky TV subscription was lowered by 50% for 6 months.
  • I only have the basic 4 pack £21.50 a month, and they gave me 50% for 12 months ! I was offered it for 6 months and i said well thats great but i have forecast me expenditure for a year and i cannot afford it. After a long conversation about how bad life is and how i cannot afford to have little extras like Sky and how i have got rid of my car i was given 50% for 12 months! HAPPY ! My sky bill is about £11 a month now
  • Put a call into Sky in the last hour. Offered 25% off our exisiting subscription for 12 months. Upgrade to HD for free, free box and engineer installation. HD subcription 50% off for 6 months. Save £30 overall (one could argue plus £60 for the installation), then after 6 months we are back to paying what we are now. I can at last let my TV show off its stuff. Installation booked for Tuesday.

He also said they could not beat Virgin packages or Talk Talk for phone/Broadband.

what is the telephone number people are ringing for sky to get there discount going to try it for my dad today
  • interesting that this thread is mainly sky discounts. i have virgin and currently have the following

    broadband 10mb (M)
    Telephone unlimited
    TV XL
    Additional V Box
    Skysports

    All for £70.

Sky+HD with Sky World costs £62.25 according to the sky website with 20mb broadband although an extra fiver gives free calls to international destinations too. And it comes with Movies.

Interestingly when I look at the Virgin Website, the package I am currently on comes to around £90 which is more then i pay at the moment but I have a permanent £20 discount on the account. This is effect equates to the halfprice tv bundle they offer for 6 months to new customers.

So essentally, Sky is just cheaper then Virgin by around a tenner (if i factor in the movies) .. so the question is what will virgin offer?

Only slight problem is that I don't want to leave virgin as i prefer them but anyway I will report back once i get in touch with Virgin ...

** Not sure how the halfprice offer affects the normal prices of sky by the way so saving could be more! **

I Have Sky TV (half price for 12 months) Multiroom and HD.

    And also Virgin for broadband.

Be careful about Sky advertising 20mb broadband.

I have this as it's free with my Sky package.

    I get 1.5mb download speed.

That's why I have stopped with Virgin for the Broadband
