Ok peeps hoping you can help on the following.
Currently we have
Xl tv
L bb. 10mb
M phone. No need for this at all.
We currently pay £52.
Now the dilemma. With f1 going to sky and us being out of contract for quite some time I want the beat method to add sky sports and try and not pay much more. Also want TiVo.
Now if I ask for the sports they won't budge on the 22.50. However if I can get my current package plus TiVo down quite a bit then I could add sports and hopefully the total won't be too much more.
Do you guys think this is possible and what should I expect. The account is in the mrs name so need to guide her on what not to accept
Thanks0 -

I know this wont answer your question, but..
I'm with Sky and looking forward to F1 too, you can just subscribe to the HD pack only to watch the new F1 channel, no need to pay for the Sports pack. Am currently getting a half priced deal on the HD service so £5 isn't too bad to watch F1.0 -
I know but i also need espn for the UFC
Also if I'm honest I'd rather stay with virgin for bb.0 -

Ive just signed up to Sky Tv and the HD pack, no sports and by what you're saying I can also watch the F1 channel?0 -
Yeah hd pack gets it. Virgin customers have to pay for sky sports pack0

Thanks Delski.
I have checked on the website and it looks like the major three providers are available in my area (Sky, BY, Virgin etc). I am quite happy with my TV package from Sky (including Sky Sports), I just would like to get it cheaper alongside bundling my Broadband and Phone in one package.0 -
well that was a complete & utter waste of time!
Sky are obviously tightening their belts & customers like us who have no real alternative (not in a cabled area so only BT vision available), are well & truly stuffed.
we take the full tv pack inc sports & movies, line rental & talk freetime, multiroom & HD, & broadband unlimited (rubbish speed of less than 1mb as we're so far from the exchange, can't even use anytime+ as it takes too long to download anything) = £90'ish per month.
i managed to get 6 months discounted line rental that ended recently. have just tried again now for anything (tried billing as my 1st option then rang back & chose the disconnection route instead), but absolutely nothing available. i was just advised to keep checking 'my account' for any offers (currently showing discounted prices for Chelsea or Man U tv channels, purlease!).
not a happy bunny :mad:0 -
Any advice?
Cancelled my Sky subscription after 2 years - was paying £33/month for Entertainment Packs, Sports Pack, and all of it in HD.
Going up to £55.25 2 weeks ago so terminated in Dec.
Been a couple of weeks and nothing in the post /no phone calls from Sky 'wanting me back'
Anyway I can get them to consider a better deal than £55.25/month (they offered me 10% off when I called to terminate, which I declined)
My phone & Internet are from Virgin, and I wouldnt give that up as its a great deal.0 -
Might be worth calling them if you are desparate, but in doing so they will see you are desparate and won't give you much of an offer IMHO.
They normally write within 2 or 3 months... you've only been cut off for 2 weeks.....A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Something else to consider is reception. We had Sky before we moved and brought the package to the new home. Every time we had heavy rain/snow we lost picture - last episode of a favourite series failed to record because the dish was full of snow grrrr. We switched to Virgin, already had BB & phone with them and we made an overall saving of about a tenner a month .
Must admit get frustrated when i see the ads for some of the new programmes on Sky Atlantic as we cant get that but would never go back due to the problems already stated.0
